He may keep Royals in KC but the question is will Glass sell to highest bidder. They may come even if unsolicited, with the 'promise' to keep Royals in KC for 20 years that isn't kept. Perhaps willing to pay any break of contract fee.

Also will they be still named Royals? Also Tulsa has a WNBA Team and Minor League Teams. Springfield in MO has Cardinals and near by College Teams.

Love how everyone here unlike everywhere else is certain the Royals are gone but there is only two cities willing to build a baseball stadium big enough for MLB & they're either already getting a team sort of (Montreal) or are likely to get an expansion team if they get anything at all ala Raleigh.

"everyone" = mgsports
Re: Would you like to see the Royals move to a downtown stadium?
Orlando and Domes where s NFL Teams but no MLB team.
Re: Would you like to see the Royals move to a downtown stadium?
Once you realize that mgsports is a chatbot that's been trained to suggest things that don't currently exist in KC should move here and things that exist only in KC should move elsewhere, all the pieces fall into place.
Re: Would you like to see the Royals move to a downtown stadium?
Well, it’s working. Apparently Smoking Pun has blocked everyone on the site BUT mgsports.

Looking through mgsports' post history is kinda surreal. Every post is missing at least one word.

Combine all the missing words and you have the meaning of life.

That's absolutely true but I think people like the assurance, for whatever reason, of having that direct line of sight between their parking spot and their destination.johnmatrix wrote: ↑Wed Jun 26, 2019 4:04 pmThe fat people don't realize they will likely walk just as far as they do at the sports complex. I mean really towards the back of the lot is what almost a mile to the stadium give or take. Hopefully it will be built near the street car line and you can park just about anywhere in the city.brewcrew1000 wrote: ↑Wed Jun 26, 2019 9:43 am People will just complain about parking and traffic. I actually find it easier to park and exit out of a Cardinals or Twins game than it is at a Royals game. In St Louis, you can park easily over by 14th and Clarke and the Freeway ramp is right there. There are also lots of spots south of the stadium by the White Castle

The exit part is very true. I've been to quite a few games in Houston and Denver and the traffic issue when you have numerous ways out of the area from a variety of parking areas and it's is so much easier than exiting a complex like Truman Sports Complex where thousands of cars are directed towards a very few number of exits. I've been to the plaza during 100,000+ Thanksgiving celebrations and have exited the area faster than a baseball game at Kaufman. Part of the reason is that there are so many more choices and also because in an area with some amenities, people tend to take their time walking to their cars and/or visit a bar/restaurant and/or take public transportation.brewcrew1000 wrote: ↑Wed Jun 26, 2019 9:43 am People will just complain about parking and traffic. The biggest challenge will be to convince a disbelieving suburban public that downtown has an adequate road and parking infrastructure (which it does) and that downtown is safe. Recent events have made many question the latter and the shut down of 1st Friday will be more bad publicity until they get that sorted out. But some people also believed KCI was the best airport in the US too and they eventually came around.
I like the K, it's a great stadium but I've always hated where it was and the TSC in general has to be one of the biggest disappointments in KC history regarding spurring growth. It spurred the grand total of nothing in east KC. The other elephant in the room will be - who pays for a downtown stadium.

That's probably the case for many but I still see a lot of opposition in comments sections every time the subject comes up. Now it could be a serious question again.KCPowercat wrote: ↑Fri Aug 30, 2019 4:09 pm shouldn't experiences like Sprint Center events get people more comfortable?
I'd like to know what areas of downtown Sherman is thinking of?
