Opaque windows would certainly reduce incoming light, or highly energy efficient tinted windows. A bit overkill to remove highly desirable window space for that reason.

The new building in the background. This photo reminds me once again how glad I am the Mainstreet Theatre was saved from demolition. It's such a presence on that corner, and I'd miss it if it weren't there. It's so important that some of our city's history remains during the constant push for the shiny and new.

They've started adding white, approximately 1 foot wide panels on the northside and painted the lowest section on the south black. I assume the black paint is so you don't see anything behind the black cladding they are going to add to the bottom section.

I like the juxtaposition there. Old and new. Privately owned cars and a publicly owned streetcar. Nice to see the spring trees in the picture too.FangKC wrote: ↑Sun Apr 25, 2021 11:09 pm https://www.instagram.com/p/COHINPFj5wd ... _copy_link

It's the only building downtown that has a dome.

That definition of dome is pushing it in my opinion. The church has more of a spire in the mansard-variety.
I'm thinking more of a perfectly-rounded dome.

Jesus might have complained about spending money on coating a dome with 23-carat gold leaf instead of using it to help the poor.

I agree with Fang. It's a dom without a dome.

If the cathedral counts as a dome, the top of town pavilion should definitely count!

What does the glass look like?
Re: OFFICIAL - Waddell & Reed - 14th & Baltimore
You can see the color in this video: Not sure why this was in my youtube.

I will say that so far, the glass looks cheap as a result of the white frames. This building's glass is going to match Loews and the Light towers a lot more than I thought it would, which is why it's critical that I hope 3 and 4 Light, as well as the future Cordish and Sky buildings in the Crossroads, have different colored glass on them. It's ok of similar colored glades is sprinkled throughout a Downtown, but having it all concentrated in a few blocks becomes blah quickly. You lose uniqueness and start looking like Miami, Vancouver, or San Diego. In other words, bland and repetitive.
Regarding the second picture, I guess the 14th Street side will be one large parking garage screen. Not blank, but not very good looking. This seems like it'll be the "bad" side.
Lastly, it doesn't look like there are too many floors to go on this one. I count them beginning on the 15th of 18 floors right now.
