I give it +5 points for no tacky rooftop signage. Hopefully they are including some architectural lighting.

The worst part, the rendering seems to show the entire 14th St ground level will have nothing on it. It's just a giant black square in their newest rendering

The overall design is an improvement

I was not expecting this at all. I think it looks great and will break up the monotony of all the pure glass buildings going up nearby. I like how they put the garage behind glass. I kind of wonder if the garage facade will look that good. I guess it will be a ventilated garage?

I can also see WR owning/leasing a condo or two for their executives and/or visitors.

I put my martini down before I have to go to Israel (business, strictly).

Please colleagues; can we agree this is as cool as hell?

The "Hair Curlers" of Bartle Hall" were "edgy" when they had been placed... Unless you are really recalcitrant, you like those hair curlers.

This plan works beautifully: You have the "Lights" (one light, two light- glass..) Then this.

They delivered. It looks superb.

Hopefully those aren't blank walls and just a different window tone otherwise a compromise like these slotted vertical windows (right side) scattered about the W&R walls would give it more character, more vertical windows per block...

Someone better at photoshop than me that can place them here?

This rendering makes it look like those walls are translucent. I bet they'll be similar to the cladding used on the Bloch Building of the Nelson.

Translucent would work. Could be slick if pulled off right. Imagine the potential creative back-lighting at night.

On the Nelson-Bloch it was technologically impossible to get planks of the glass used at such lengths as supposed on the W&R. Thats why they butted together shorter lengths and got the "Butler Building" criticism. Has technology changed in 15 years that now 60 foot single seamless lengths are available?

Apple’s new headquarters used 47’ by 11’ curved sheets of glass. The manufacturer, Sedak, advertises flat sheets up to 65.6’ by 11.5’. This glass is prohibitively expensive to manufacture and ship. I’d expect smaller individual panes which could look cool if light up invidually creating a mosaic.

Agreed. Rooftop signs are glorified billboards and are especially egregious when they distract from architecture

This building would look good anywhere in the Crossroads.
