Some large pieces of machinery (old rooftop air handlers maybe) appear to have been removed and are siting around the site.

I'm surprised how much debris is being removed from the IBM building prior to demolition. I'd thought it'd be pushed over by now.

My guess is Lead and Asbestos remediation. The group filing the demo permits for the project is AT Abatement.

Per their website.
AT Abatement Services, Inc. was founded in 1988 and has since grown into a full-service abatement company providing scheduled and emergency asbestos, lead, and mold abatement throughout the country.

Was better than the old TWA building. Too bad there was not some mock up of a vintage computer on the roof.

The place was crawling with workers today. From the ground, it looks like the top 2 floors have been gutted while work progresses on the first 2.

Will people be able to press them to include some kind of pedestrian involvement here? I’m not living in town so I won’t be able to attend, but this issue needs to be brought up and by more than one-sies and two-sies

Yes. It’s a legally required meeting for that very purpose - citizen complaints.

I like the design despite street level activation being VERY minimal. I do wonder of the West side will have blank walls or if it’s only the East side. Reason why I say this is because the East side makes sense with Four Light expected to rise on the parking lot across the street.

Also, I like that the parking garage is going to be hidden behind glass. It will help it blend in more.

Either way, glad to see the design and renderings.

There's clearly a design aesthetic emerging from Burns & Mac. Here's Reverb for comparison:

It looks like they are hinting at a highway cap in these renderings. Notice the trees and green highlights where the highway should be.

I like the design but not the large blank walls, would be better if a different tone of windows (or is it?). And why intentionally reduce views from within the offices. Very odd if counter-intuitive. Hope I'm wrong.

I think that it is a different tone of glass. It’s a pretty basic rendering so I think it may just not have come out exactly right.

^Would hope so. Is indeed hard to tell. Great design if the case. C- if those are walls.

This has a lot of promise. I really like that you can't tell its on a parking podium (at least in the current phase of designs). I hope that translates to the final product. I am still interested to see what the ground level looks like. BM seems to make pretty cool looking buildings from a distance, but until I see a finished product from the sidewalk to show me otherwise, I'm not convinced they get the pedestrian element of design.
