It makes more sense to take one of the smaller hotels downtown and upgrade its' service level to 5-star.

Just tell people to stay at one of our wonderful boutique hotels and be done with this madness until it can finance itself.

Probably a Live by Loews. Cordish did one in STL. Not one of the better hotels I’ve stayed at

The room price in StL is competitive. They will do well.

I think it would have passed in the absence of COVID.

Maybe not 12-0, but without a doubt. With a healthy convention business we need more rooms downtown.

not shocked, and this projects was DOA before COVID and certainly it is not in any better shape now. I for one am in favor of building this, as a means to stay competitive to peer cities. However I am not willing to give developers the incentives they were seeking.

Perhaps the city can do something that would beneficial to them through other packages but a project of this nature should be paid for mostly by the developers. If they are confident in its impact and performance they should be confident enough to finance the deal and basically deal with City Hall when you have too as you build the project. But if you don't have the money or money backers strong enough to go it alone, then don't go at all

I agree, I would like to see it move forward, but have no confidence in a group that is completely tone deaf and oblivious to prevailing winds.

They poisoned the well years ago. Time to move on or somehow reinvent themselves.

"They" did. They sold it to a hedge fund in mid 2020.
