This project seems more suited for condos. Solid, sustainable, high quality construction is what I would look for in a condo. Most new urban low rise apartments are built with sticks and probably have a class A shelf life of 15 years.

Workers & delivery trucks show up at 5:30-6am M-F. It's just transitioned to mostly interior work as I imagine they will do a tiered opening like most of the other large projects (ie: City Club). But yet I still don't understand why the 2nd St. exterior isn't finished...

It seems like the project is actually getting close to completion.

I'm more than likely wrong, but it seems they aren't planning on putting brick on certain portions of the building. On the East side in direct view of the pedestrian bridge they layered on some base and then painted it beige a few days back.

They are going before city planning committee to determine where the driveway will be (either on 2nd where the construction crew enters currently, or on Main where the current residents of 136 Main enter- as the developers had a deal with that building to utilize the driveway, but now they're wanting out of that).

Just a reminder of the original renderings. I really do love this project.

So, it appears the rear buildings have been reduced from 7 stories in the rendering to 6 stories. Right?

This project is surprisingly nice to look at. I wish there was some more (any) ground floor retail but nearly 300-units will be a great win for high-density sustainable living.

A nice shade of rust, perfect for viewing the Hannibal bridge.

It might not be easy being green, but tenants of the Second + Delaware apartments will have an abundance of green new options at their disposal when it opens in about two months.

After some ups and downs, the $90 million, 276-unit development at 122 Delaware St. is in the home stretch of construction, with co-developers Arnold Development Group and Yarco Development planning to open the apartments for occupancy around the beginning of October.

In the intervening time, workers will finish installing kitchen cabinets, appliances and the building's rooftop gardens, as well as complete improvements to Second Street between Delaware and Wyandotte streets, Arnold Development Group CEO Jonathan Arnold told the Kansas City Business Journal.
