So a small complaint. We took the Troost max to visit a friend in Children's Mercy. Super hot day. Max drops you on the back of the building. You have to walk all the way around the building on the north side to the main entrance, or around the south side to the emergency entrance. It's not a short or easy walk. We were fine because we are healthy humans, but I can't imagine how a disabled/elderly person would have done. Seams CMH could figure out an entrance on that side.

The Children's Mercy tower stairwell is past the halfway point. It's already clear the visible stairwell is going to add a lot of character to the building well beyond what the rendering shows. The dark strip looks way better than the rendering too.

They brought in three more cranes to help lift materials, the tempo has visibly picked up on the project.

Visible from the south side, not shown on any renderings, a structure is going up on the roof. From its lightweight framing I would guess it is going to be some kind of screening for rooftop equipment. The odd thing about it is that at the west end it must be about 9 feet high and at the east end about 19 feet.

When the giant stairwell glass goes up it's going to get even better

The main glass is up to full height on the south side of the building.

Too bad that south side is so plain, even the glass is dull. But it makes sense as it looks like a future expansion involves a vertical addition to the angled brick building to the immediate south.

Thanks. Looks like phase 4 will just duplicate what is presently there. Although brick, the window glass will tie it in with the present construction.. Wonder what UMKC Dental will do for patient parking when phase 2 commences?

Phase 2 is where the current ER and ER parking lot is located.

It is also the UMKC Dental school patient parking. The rendering shows that phase sitting right on top of the lot used for UMKC Dental parking.

It would remain as they are building on top of the current ER building.
