I predict that eventually they will have to reduce the rents of apartments with bedrooms near the interstate viaduct. Nothing lulls one to sleep like the whine of 18-wheeler tires.

Saltwater pool, gym, dog spa: Tour downtown KC's new Crossroads Westside Apartments
...
From Unit 345, you can watch thousands of cars whizzing by on the Interstate, located 20 feet from a window in the second bedroom. The 1,222-square-foot apartment is still available — for $1,934 per month.

Each unit also has a walk-in closet in the master bedroom and a stacked washer and dryer in the pantry. Prices range from $1,229 for a 669-square-foot one-bedroom, one-bathroom unit to $2,300 for a 2,200-square-foot apartment with two bedrooms and two bathrooms.

About a third of the units have been leased, and a fourth are already occupied, says community manager Nicole Neely.
...
Crossroads Westside doesn't have a rooftop infinity pool overlooking the Power & Light District, as Two Light does, or a free coffee bar and pickleball court, like Union. But it does offer some attractive amenities, such as a 24-hour gym with CrossFit equipment and a spinning studio, and a saltwater pool with lots of lounge chairs that look out across railroad tracks to Union Station.

The pool area also features fire pits, barbecue grills and doors that open up to a lounge area with a kitchen, a TV, air hockey, Skee-Ball and arcade games. The communal space is decorated with quirky touches that reflect the creative neighborhood: reclaimed wood, macrame wall hangings, a garden gnome and a shelf supported by two big blue hands.

Originally, wasn't the plan to vacate part of Cesar Chavez in front of this apartment and combine it with the grass island to create a new 'Triangle Park'?
Was this scrapped? I often see both sides of this part of the street used for parking automobiles.

The vacation request was on the 10/31 CPC agenda. Hasn't been that long.

Good to know this is still in process. Is a logical, attractive update to what is currently a tiny patch of unused greenspace directly in front of this development. Hope it comes to fruition.

Restoration Emporium relocates to Westside Crossroads
RE aka Restoration Emporium has relocated from the West Bottoms to 1717 Washington St. opening a combination retail and workshop for its home furnishings and decor operation.

Josh Huff said the family business had to leave its home of several years in the Bottoms at 1300 Liberty after the building was sold.

The new digs on the Westside, which opened a month ago, offer space to sell its blend of new and vintage furnishings.

I can't believe this complex and the one at 19th and Oak got built, and the East Village is still undeveloped.

I’d rather see it develop organically anyways

BBG, a Dallas real estate due diligence firm, has been poking around Crossroads Westside recently. Sounds to me like its for sale with a buyer lined up.
