I agree, awful. Might have looked decent if they had matched Kauffman Center's precast panels but right now they cheapen the otherwise attractive, generic glass design. To my eye, at least.

Don't hate the panels, but I do hate the color.

If they were metal panels that matched the ballroom across the street the whole thing would look much better

Nice pics. Not to be picky but it is the Kay Barnes ballroom, not Kauffman.

We have come a long ways from this “improved” Hyatt design.

Love that last shot. Shows the same outcrop of now hidden limestone half the hotel sits on, that once appeared so high with the low rise Hereford Assoc on it. Must have been quite the sight when they cut 670 through it. Maybe this small parcel with the 2 bldngs should be developed into a pocket park to reveal the hidden geology under downtown.

The vertical rectangle insets help stop those tan walls from being so bad. Same with the bumpout for the glass. I'm not going to call it a top 10% design but those little details help.

It definitely ended up better than what we were going to get before Loews came on board.

It has a few issues that lighting and landscaping will help.

That's not actually complete to show how complex it it. There's a publicly accessible tunnel close to 13th St between Municipal and the Bartle Hall entrance off 13th. They show the Broadway docks but not the parking and docks off Truman, Truman isn't even marked on the map

Lots of equipment at the top today. Maybe they're preparing to finish the sloped section?
