OFFICIAL - City Club Apartments (former Midwest Hotel)
Re: OFFICIAL - City Club Apartments (former Midwest Hotel)
I really hate the look, but that reminds me of CVS too even they finally made them fix it up.
I just don't know why not do that first.
They've started moving in apartments.

The look more hurts their ability to draw in customers to me. Personally I prefer they have more inventory so if that means pegboards facing the window so be it.

I really doubt this is true. People needing to save money shop at dramatically less well designed and maintained storesKCPowercat wrote: ↑Thu Aug 20, 2020 9:56 am The look more hurts their ability to draw in customers to me.

Yeah, I agree. Why not just throw up some massive window coverings? Dgx now open, here are stock photo people smiling looking at all the stuff we have.KCPowercat wrote: ↑Thu Aug 20, 2020 9:56 am The look more hurts their ability to draw in customers to me. Some pictures of the pool and common areas. People that know how to post pictures here, feel free.
Sorry they're shitty.

Really enjoy the design choices of this place. Bold patterns, funky. Really like it. Thanks for the pics.
Re: OFFICIAL - City Club Apartments (former Midwest Hotel)
It has some really beautiful views too for being so low. You can effectively tell where I live from here so please don't be creepy.

What's the view looking directly out of your balcony from the inside?
Re: OFFICIAL - City Club Apartments (former Midwest Hotel)
The other side of the courtyard looking east into the new construction. So basically wood right now. The courtyard doesn't exist.
I'll post some more pictures when I go back. Moving in a pandemic sucks.
Re: OFFICIAL - City Club Apartments (former Midwest Hotel)
I'll take pictures anyone wants. The indoor movie theater is built. I have no idea how covid changes this. The outdoor space isn't far behind.
There is an entryway to the market for winter which is super nice. And they seem confident on a wine bar or place on that floor. I'm less confident. But whatever...
The lobby looks great. The dgx looks like shit
The drop off place everyone hates is weird. I'll make no comment for now. I'm biased, but I think a quick place to get out of cars is okay. But they didn't get it perfect.

They have apparently installed hideously bright lights around the entrance that are creating massive light pollution to our apartments across the street (1914 Main). I've had several resident complaints, so will need to do something about this.
Let's see if I can figure out how to post a picture:

Yeah it looks like a fuck up. If it's not fixed, I'll mention something. Typically it's they put the wrong lights in or the wrong coverings or both.
I'll have to see in person. I know they're still working on the entrance.

I'm hoping your right in that this is an unfinished feature and some type of shielding/covering will be put in place. But I'll like to see them turned off until they finish the fixture!
Re: OFFICIAL - City Club Apartments (former Midwest Hotel)
From last night. It appears to not be as bright, but they're still not done.
Re: OFFICIAL - City Club Apartments (former Midwest Hotel)
Wish they could put the old giant fiberglass cow head from the Hereford House back up on the corner.
Re: OFFICIAL - City Club Apartments (former Midwest Hotel)
Supposedly these lights will now be turned off until they're complete.

Collison reporting the restaurant will be announced soon and sounds like a successful local group. Any guesses?
Stopped by DGX this weekend. What a great amenity for the crossroads. Well done and full of a lot more variety than I expected.
