My Brooklyn brother just sent me these while walking home. Domino Park in Williamsburg Brooklyn. Could see WB pursue something like these...

Yes pursuing an outdoor activity center would get so many more people down there to utilize and become comfortable. If there is anyway we could get a city museum like St. Louis I could see it doing well down there too

Not really just outdoor activity but the context and flow of modernism integrated into late 1800s grit. And KC/STL should be offering different experiences, not mimic each other.

I think some paving and landscaping throughout the West Bottoms would do wonders to make it feel more like a place. I know the dirt roads are a bit of a novelty....but I think that'll wear out pretty fast once more people live in and visit it.

The scale of the west bottoms is truly staggering. I'm sure there are very few industrial areas from this era and of this scale in the midwest. It's like a whole town tucked down there.

I like how West Bottoms Flats came out. Just need to replicate this many times and you got a really special area. Really, more special than now.

Here is a building that I believe is new to the market - the Laramie Tires Building at 1201 Union. Looks like it could have good potential. 120,000 sq ft:

This building still appears to be on the market, but a Special Use Permit application was recently submitted on Compass: "Sporting event venue indoors. Dodgeball with Bows and arrows, gaming sports."

Dodgeball with bows and arrows sounds dangerous.

It's certainly a unique concept. Should do well for those wanting to do something different.

Well this looks interesting.

Tours today in conjunction with Historic West Bottoms Celebration.

They seem a bit behind schedule? Frankly, I'm surprised this isn't on a 10 year timeline.
saw some instagram activity about this project this weekend. looks like it was probably just a tour and explanation of plans. unclear to me whether anything new has happened. i guess they think phase 1 will open in 2022.

Couldn't find the post that mentioned this. Office (?) renovation happening at the SE corner of 12th & Mulberry. Some historic facade has been exposed on the west side:

Rau Construction office and warehouse. If I understand right the old freight house section will all return to 19th century brick exterior. The mid-century modern addition to the east will remain mid-century modern.

Short building adjacent to West Bottoms Flats is now "The Wood Lot". New paint on a lot of the windows and some of the junk out front was cleaned up.

I'm not sure if any organization does a "Most Enhanced Award" for historic redevelopment projects in KC, but if this building is overhauled and made to look like it did in the 19th Century, then it would surely win the award. Same goes for the West Bottoms Flats and numerous other projects in the City.

It's not quite that old. It was built 1909-1911
