Can't say I'm in love with anything about these developers or this project, but I guess it's good something is happening.

What reservations do you have about it?

The move from a basement data center to "family activities" seems worrying.

I know they've had some financing issues as well as treating this site like shit since they've owned it.

I'd think most developers would take out the bomb barriers and try to lighten the place up. It's just a very unique, austere building, and I haven't seen anything to show they can handle it.

I thought originally the ne parking lot was supposed to be new development which would really help this block. We'll see.

The data center market has moved dramatically in a few years. People are buying less servers and aren’t hosting on their own as much even since 2016.

The next data center in KC will be a massive facility on the order or 30+ acres.

Fine. I still don't know wtf family activities means

And I'm not sure "our proposal was so shit and outdated that it couldn't get funding" renews my faith in the development team.

This is clearly an outdoor list, but I found a hotel with children's activities listed within seconds.

And a place changing what they do last minute is exactly what you want to see. They're not wasting money on something unrealistic.

Yeah, I don't want to be too negative here. Sorry if it came off that way.

Just skeptical but hopeful!

The parking lot next to the horrible garage has been wrapped in RAU construction signing.

Right now they're just advertising parking rates, so I don't think anything is happening. But at one point that lot was supposed to be a boutique hotel.

I can't find the thread where I responded to a comment a month or so ago regarding this project so I'm jumping in here:

I have to retract my disagreement and say that I now believe this project to be stalled. There is no dumpster on site and I can't recall the last time I saw workers or the elevator not at ground. Anyone know anything?

I know someone who definitely should’ve received drawings by now if there was any activity.

He has not.

I work at two buildings between this one. I walk back and fourth a lot and have never seen anyone working here for months now.

A user on Reddit says a chunk of facade fell off this building today
Did anyone else downtown just witness the huge chunk of concrete fall about 9 stories from the old Federal Reserve building? Happened at about 1:50pm. They're renovating the inside of the building but that wasn't supposed to happen as the sidewalk below was wide open and it took out a light post.
They also shared pictures
