I saw that and the AG filed a lawsuit so months of legal battles and wasted money. I'm vaccinated I wore my mask all the time last time around this time its kind of different I don't think this will help much if the goal is to get people vaccinated. The problem with this is the people who are against getting vaccinated were also the ones who didnt follow any of the protocols last year. People from all over the midwest think like this unfortunately and alot of them will visit KC too. This simply isnt going anyway.
This, and all the mandates so far, have been 100% about hospital capacity.

The St. Louis County Council overrode County Executive Sam Page's mandate 5-2 tonight. Individual businesses in the County can now decide whether or not to require masks. Sam Page is planning to sue the council for this decision.

I imagine Eric Schmitt will take aim at KC now too.

How do you get owners to stop sitting on their land? It's one thing that if someone comes up with the secret method that works it needs to be sold to the council.

Incentivize development? Higher tax on unused properties?

The problem is that assumes two things

1. That it’s actually unused. What if someone buys the land next to them in order to maintain it as green space to enjoy?
2. That unused is the preferred state. Why would we punish someone who owns land, pays the taxes on time but can’t get a bank to loan money?

Forcing someone to sell land doesn’t work either, the land could be collateral on a loan, tied up in the courts or similar.

Would love to know Ellingtons reasoning
he has an at large seat. can't get re-elected without citywide support and if he's primary challenged it will take northland support to keep the seat

I have no idea, but it's plausible

Clerk has a new website.

You can navigate to it through the city’s website.

What are you find hard? I'm using low end Obama phone and seemed easy enough. List view or calander mode.
Calander mode if you need separation of times on that day.
If you're not on the EDGE, you're taking up TOO MUCH ROOM!

Every date was blank for me before. They show up now. Is council just not meeting this month?

Why the shift to this new website?

Why can't Cleaver get a law passed to end state control of local police departments? The Democrats control the House, Senate and President. I can't imagine any Democrats would be against it since it would only affect Kansas City.

Because there aren’t any people who have the money with a vested interest in getting it passed is my guess

It may be a states' rights issue. States may be the only authority with legal authority to intercede or have dominion over police or militias in their states. For example, governors are in control of the state national guard, not the president.

Because they're all pandering, posturing politicians.
