Are these streets being opened back up after the paint dries?

Didn’t really recognize the scale of these until I saw those pics, these are massive murals!

Is the painting confusing or otherwise a hindrance to traffic? I haven't seen them in person yet but I feel like that's actually a legit concern to have on an active street. Doesn't all street marking usually have to adhere to some traffic safety code?

Probably falls under the same category as colorful or 3D crosswalks. Technically not allowed and blocked by KC Public Works but magically works in every other city.

If you look closely at the 10th Street mural, the color pattern is different on either side of the center line marking. I suspect that makes it acceptable. Not sure if that explains the rest...

Someone whose vision is so shot they can't drive in a straight line because of a little paint shouldn't be driving.

My understanding was that KCPW was told to stop blocking colorful sidewalks, at least in this situation. Apparently it's all a matter of who is giving the direction.

Having a peer like NKC implement a major road diet with painted crosswalks likely broke them on the topic. Being able to point to drivers from KC handling them just fine and still being blocked would have been them look petty rather than safety minded.

IMO there's a huge difference between driving over a single narrow colorful crosswalk and driving down an entire street with random painted zigzagging colors. The latter sounds like it could actually be a truly hazardous situation.

It isn't necessary to entertain im2kull's concern trolling.
