Is a good step but how about closing some streets for pedestrian/restaurant space. There are some streets that could be permanent, like Nichols Rd/Plaza and Penn/Westport, maybe Delaware/River Market.

That was fast: 14th Street will close for restaurants https://www.kansascity.com/news/local/a ... 06851.html

Kudos, Cordish!

Also:
In Kansas, the Leawood City Council adopted similar rules.

We ate in the street from Bristol last night. Very fun! So happy this is a thing in KC. Has anyone else jumped on this as quickly as Cordish? And will anyone eat at Dubliner now?

Dubliner outside tables were packed last night.

These tables need some ambiance like a plant or umbrellas.

Didn't bother me. With our varying weather, I don't blame them for keeping it minimal.

I feel like they need to put up an event tent if they want to maintain this through the summer.

No tables tonight from Dubliner.

I wonder if we could also have pop ups on the streets for other restaurants affected, any other streets gonna be shut soon?

I’m surprised Crown Center hasn’t set something up in their square for all of their tenants. Seems like they should have everything on hand to make it happen.

Plaza restaurants already have stands that they use for Plaza Art Fair so seems like a natural next step to shut down Nichols Rd for any Plaza restaurant that chooses to use it.

In case of P&L, do they allow any P&L restaurant tenant to use 14th? The Live restaurants have patios but Yard House doesn't right?

If Westport shuts down Penn, they maybe need to allow any restaurant in the association to (optionally) use the stretch, not just those along Penn.

Other restaurants can just get a parklet permit to gain more outdoor space.
