Re: OFFICIAL - Strata (H&R Block's 2nd Tower)
Yeah, I'm sure potential tenants don't want to languish in uncertainty like Cordish when the council goobered up the Three Light negotiations. That shit was supposed to break ground in October.

Is it just me or does Lucas seem to be getting super snippy on Twitter toward anyone that questions him on policy? Especially with this and the affordable housing trust fund.

Re: Misc Crossroads News
I've been wanting to visit, but have held off for fear of what you describe. It was written up in a LOT of media. As for the cocktail price, I don't mind paying that for a one off quality cocktail in the Swordfish Tom/Manifesto league. Don't know if these apply, but the list did look tasty. They do...

Re: Misc Crossroads News
Has anyone been to the pop-up Christmas bar above Rockhill Grill? A co-worker begged me to check it out with her yesterday, so we showed up ten minutes after it opened (4pm) and there were already around 20 people in line - people who didn't make it in before the space reached capacity. At 5:00 the...

Re: Downtown Tanners closing?
Are the arcade and Hush under-performing as much as Broadway Bistro was? The complex can definitely work if all the independent pieces are profitable. To be honest, i'm surprised the bistro piece lasted as long as it did. Even after the "rebrand" into more of a sports bar concept.

Re: Proposed tower on Plaza
Regardless of ACTUAL historical nature of the church, don't the landowners need to either consent or object to a third party's petition for historic status? At least w/ regard to the National Register, the committee is not allowed to designate over the owner's protests. Does this type of limitation ...

Re: Westport
The interesting thing about the potential residential saturation, as opposed to restaurant/micro-brew saturation, is that it's important and high-dollar enough to cause (or at least elicit) investment in jobs/headquarters in order to keep the residential developments from completely going under. Tha...

City Barrel Brewing is supposed to be a full-service brew pub too. I think that's slated to open this month.

Re: Are downtown apartment occupancy rapidly trending down?
https://cityscenekc.com/downtown-dazzle-urban-homes-tour-this-saturday/ With the lack of downtown jobs (especially tech type jobs that appeal to younger people) you have to think downtown is reaching that saturation point of those willing to pay more to live downtown AND commute to suburban jobs. T...

Re: KCTV5 tower.
We need better icons. No doubt, but it takes generations to create a true icon. This is what we have, a deep second to Plaza lights, Bartle towers, Liberty Memorial, etc. It is worth keeping and upgrading. I find nothing iconic or interesting about it. It's an eye-sore and takes up a ton of space i...

Re: 1800 Walnut
I think there's probably something to be said about the complexity of incentives on the 1800 Walnut vs. the Cordish developments. Also, that there doesn't appear to be any overarching master development agreement (other than for the site itself) or other city/political entanglements that need to be ...

I wonder if they got this wrong and meant there is a 13 story office tower being built behind this church? I've read or heard rumblings that this Church is going to sell to a developer, so rumors about a office tower there could be accurate. I wish there were some buildings--like this--that were ju...
