Re: Big XII Basketball

I completely agree.  I don't think the other teams are better than K-State, but I do think we go on the road against inferior teams and figure out too late that we are in over our heads.  How do we completely own A&M and OU on the road and then fall to MU, TT, and NU?!  Frustrating. Not sure wh...

Re: Big XII Basketball

Oklahoma had another nailbiter tonight, beating Baylor 92-91 in overtime at home to continue the streak of 28 straight wins over Baylor. OU was leading by 8 points with less than 3 minutes left, but Baylor was able to tie it on a layup at the buzzer. In overtime, Baylor scored the first 7 points, bu...

Re: Big XII Basketball

Now, any comments on actual games, not attempting to trash the IQ of the KSU bball fan?  Well hello - the chief of insulting fanbases' IQs now asks for a refrain from other people insulting KSU's BBIQ. How rich. I'll give a comment on an actual game: David Godbold's 30-foot 3 point shot to win Okla...

Re: Downtown Mission/ The Gateway

Reality.......this is a HUGE project ($150ish million), it's not going to appear over night. This project has been discussed for over two years now with no physical action other than the demolition of the mall. If this had been announced three months ago, then yeah people would need some more patie...

Re: Big XII Basketball

Once again, Collins failed to show up. That guy has had his head up his ass all season. He's going to need to come around by March or else we won't be making the Final Four. I continue to be astounded that Bill Self hasn't told Collins to STOP recklessly driving into the lane when there are 2-3 big...

Re: Austin growing up!

Our Downtown is still not on par with most other large cities.  The city of Austin is not behind the boom, private developers are.  There are no 300 million dollar arts centers, arenas, stadiums etc. That's what I still don't get about KC.  Billions and billions of dollars of public investment and ...

Oklahoma will play Notre Dame in 2012 and 2013 as well as Florida State in 2010 and 2011, Tennessee in 2014 and 2015, and Ohio State in 2016 and 2017. Apparently there is also an agreement with LSU though I can't find which seasons (probably 2018 and 2019).

Re: The Official Kansas City Weather Thread

Please all of you... don't listen to TV forecasters when it comes to winter storms!! Find the National Weather Service site for Kansas City and get their forecast ( www.crh.noaa.gov/eax ). The weather forecast can be sensationalized just like the rest of the news. I guess they figure people would ra...

Re: Sports Section of the Forum Sucks Worse Than Search Function

For a couple of years, the main attraction of this board for me was seeing project updates and finding news and rumors about new projects. But with the economy cooling off, and Kansas Citians still not sold on urban living, there won't be much to talk about other than sports for a while. Side note -...

ps - frank martin is one of the most ridiculous looking human beings i've seen in a while.  every time they showed him i wanted to yell out "go back to jersey where it's cool to have greased up hair and messed up eyes".  but maybe that's just because he's a rival coach... Whenever I see h...

Re: The Official Kansas City Weather Thread

I use a more scientific method:  when my dog snorts a lot and sleeps on her bed upstairs, it will rain.  Today she only snorted a little and is sleeping in the family room downstairs. :) I tell you what - in May I will be a trained meteorologist and I can tell you that your method is likely more ac...

Re: World Indices Nosedive - U.S. Markets Could Follow

What boggles my mind is that the Republicans make so much noise about tax cuts, then turn around and ask for hundreds of billions of dollars for a war, and now they want to use even more government money to end up benefiting corporations. How do they think money works?? I can't believe our governmen...

Re: Barack Obama in Kansas City Tues, Jan 29th!!

Obama is still a severe longshot.  Oddsmakers are still putting him at only a 30% chance of winning the nomination. For someone who claims to know so much about Vegas, this is quite an interesting pair of sentences. By my calculations, if Obama really has a 30% chance of winning, then his odds are ...

I didn't see it myself but I hear that Sebelius gave the Democrats' response to the State of the Union address tonight. Nice way for the Democrats to refuse to cede 'red states' in the political perception.

Re: Oklahoma City

My office is around 44 and 235, so Edmond seemed like the closest residential type area. I don't really know. What is traffic like in OKC? I really hate long commutes so the closer the better. My girlfriend is a nurse so she won't have any problems finding a place to work. I've been looking at hous...
