Re: The Jones Ultra Pool
Seem like normal people to me??? Pics in the ink this week confirm that...I guess I am missing the stereotyping. See, the article I read talked about the employees from the House of Elan Spa with the $1,000 membership, relaxing there midday with bottle service in their cabana. I'm not totally conv...

Re: The merits of buying your crap at Target vs. Drugstores/Groceries
Proximity thing, here. Target is within momentary walking distance for me, over any of the semi-close by CVS or Walgreens locations. I cannot walk to a Costco (nor could I likely walk home with bulk purchases anyway, but I also can't drive to Costco with nearly the economy of time I can to Target)....

Re: Westport's fate post-P&L
It's a cute enough store; tiny, but that seems to work out okay for it. It's nothing I'd buy, pretty niche, but I can see how it appeals to its demographic. The pocket ninjas are pretty cute.

If you don't think that Cordish developments city to city are pretty interchangeable/cookie cutter essentially, there will be no swaying you. I'm not arguing which are "better," and who'd kill to have who's canned mall/restaurant/bar venue....just saying that from what I've seen, they don...

Re: "KC Strip" Bus Service
I cannot conceive of ever paying that amount, when there is a Max. But I'm guessing I'm not their target demographic, as a person who rarely stays out until 3 a.m. unless I'm within walking distance of my house.

Re: Closed Bars and Restaurants
It would seem that for most people there isn't anything else for them to see on the other side of the parking lot (see Jess's comment). There actually IS stuff to see and do the opposite direction on Westport Road, though...it's just not piled up densely like it is in the core radiating outward fr...

Re: OFFICIAL: Power & Light District
Really good article that showed the good and bad of P&L I thought. I didn't know the restaurants were faring so poorly. Thought discussion on how the district doesn't have local flavor was interesting. And definitely true. The district's okay, but it could be plopped down anywhere. And has b...

The only condo I've ever spent any time in downtown had its own top floor pool area; I just assumed that most of the others similar to it did, too.GRID wrote: Don't most of the larger condo buildings have pools?

Re: Closed Bars and Restaurants
We walk west of there all the time, to get to World Market and Westport Flea Market and to Spivey's bookseller. We typically pass other people on foot, too. The real reason you don't see the more foot traffic west of Mill Street is because you've reached the end of the bar next to a bar next to a ...

Was out there tonight, absolutely no problem with lines for food or bathrooms.
Foot-long hotdogs were average, pretty much like grilled hotdogs wherever. I dunno, I don't expect gourmet from sports venue concessions.

I can't agree with the folks who didn't have a good time at Friday night's game...it was a blast, and the park looked great. Really fun game. I think it helped my outlook that I was NOT about to wait in line for promotional hot dogs, though. We just tailgated from about 5 p.m. on, and didn't worr...

That said, I'm excited to make it out to my first game this season tomorrow, with a big group from work. Should be fun.
