Re: Million plus Square Foot Dist Center in KCK
I get the feeling that if this deal had been done in Missouri, people wouldn't be searching for any negatives they can find. They aren't building the facility in Leawood. KCK will be happy to have the jobs, I don't think they're worried about the "quality" of employee that's working there....

http://www.bizjournals.com/kansascity/news/2016/07/11/amazon-kck-fulfillment-center.html I'll just post what I put on Reddit... Amazon is a big part of my business so i follow this stuff closely. 2.3 million usable sq. ft. is obviously enormous, but it's huge even by Amazon standards. With the Edger...

Re: 1721 Walnut
I don't mind the exterior, but I'm so not a fan of the interior. If it ends up being as sweet as the interiors at 1914 Main, you'll love it! http://static1.squarespace.com/static/5307a455e4b0e7bbc055e710/5403a845e4b0b0a7e18715d2/57202b761bbee05e96bcef51/1461726084214/Plan+C+Living+Area.jpg?format=2...

Re: 1721 Walnut
Well crap, this is right where I normally park for free. There are some really great buildings on this block and I think it has a lot of potential. This building is fugly comparatively.

So much parking!
We could legitimately use a Lowe's in this area though.

Re: Bluhawk
Realistically, the only border will be 215th which is where JoCo and Blue Valley end. I don't think they'll get there anytime soon, but new neighborhoods are popping up on 179th so who knows.

Wow, it might not be long before all the people complaining about the streetcar being a waste of money start complaining that the streetcar is too busy.

Re: Edgerton-Amazon Fulfillment Center
I think this warehouse ships big ticket items like TVs and kayaks so if it's sold to someone in Missouri Kansas won't get any kind of taxes from it and I doubt a lot of people in ks are buying kayaks. It kind of sucks to have a Amazon in your state cause u have to pay taxes. You've got it partly co...

Re: Edgerton-Amazon Fulfillment Center
Not to put too much rain on the parade here, but these jobs mostly don't pay well and many appear to be excellent candidates for automation. The article doesn't appear to mention, but I'm curious what kinds of incentives they may have gotten. Much of it already is automated. I sell on Amazon full t...

If you're ever down in that area, go check it out. The huge scale of the BNSF intermodal facility is pretty awesome.
