Re: Shoal Creek Shops Going UP

I noticed the other day that the Buffalo Wild Wings finally opened.  I'm curious about what that other restaurant they are building nearby is going to be.

Re: It's Lee's Summit's turn I guess. Legoland, aquarium etc...

As interesting as this prospect of a Legoland in Lee's Summit may seem, it looks as if it may be overshadowed pretty quickly.  Twice in about the last week I've seen mention on the news of some goings on between Disney and Branson.  Apparently they are wanting to purchase a thousand acres and I can'...

Re: Only in Riverside...(locals resist "upscale")

Someone noted that Riverside has no property taxes; if true revenue=0. But they would probably get some revenue from the casinos as the rich home owners patronize them frequently. Kudos to Riverside citizens, they are participating in the democratic process while everyone on this forum, excoriates ...

Re: Shoal Creek Shops Going UP

I've heard from numerous sources including a developer that Costco's expansion plans are on hold for the KC area due to there current stores not meeting expectations.  I don't understand that because the Midtown store always has 7-8 lanes packed with people waiting to checkout.  If someone wants to...

Re: OFFICIAL: Zona Rosa (tenants & phase II)

One thing I noticed in that article is no mention of a hotel.  I thought the original ZR2 plans called for a hotel. Yeah, I do remember seeing that.  I thought there was actually going to be a phase III also and that was going to be a part of that.  Maybe that's no longer a go.  Plans for these thi...

I was hoping there'd be some new information out.  That bizjournal article is just restating information that's already been put out numerous times.

Nothing to regret.  Doesn't matter what you say on here.  Someone will find a way to turn it into a big flame war.  May as well just say whatever's on your mind anyway.

Re: Shoal Creek Valley homes in the northland :: 18 photos

How long is the drive from this area to downtown KCMO for commuters? It's about 15 or 16 miles if I remember correctly.  I used to drive it daily when I lived in that area but it's been 11 years so it might be +/- another mile or two.  The amount of time varies with traffic conditions of course.  I...

c'mon..don't be like Fox or CNN and go boner over nothing.  she was instrumental in getting her hub into the mayor's office. Calling his responding to the question "pulling the race card" is what I call going boner.  It was a stupid comment.  She could have said east side or whatever.  No...

Re: OFFICIAL: Kansas City Mayoral Race

Claiming it was racism or whatever when Funkhouser's wife referred to the East Side as the black town, and the people in the area they went to aren't even offended, but Brooks is making a big hooey about it. He was asked about it and he answered.  That's not pulling the race card.  Nice spin though...

Re: Did you VOTE Today?

Hang on a minute...go look up the voter turnout for the northland.  I'm not trying to be a dick, but it wasn't great.  So, I can't blame / thank anyone for anything. If the election would have been restricted to the Jackson County portion only Funkhouser would have lost by almost 9,000 votes.  Funk...

You know what I find somewhat funny?  The urban snobs that constantly whine about the northland and the people that live there have them to thank for electing their goofy looking super hero.  Brooks owned the Jackson County portion of KC.
