Re: We are getting a new airport!!!

The new LaGuardia head house recently opened. In the promotion for it, they’re advertising their own app for touch less convenience including ordering food.

Easy to see something similar rolling out here in 2023.

Re: We are getting a new airport!!!

Most of the options presented for the new terminal read as a focus group for what to highlight in advertising, rather than an unexpected re-think of what was designed. I’m not too worried. I would consider the air ventilation & additional hands-free tech as the most probable changes that could h...

If the metro is smart, they’d ensure that whatever tax funding is approved include full funding for game day busing to the East Village Transit center.

and no way that would be allowed from a security perspective. This. Absolutely no way in hell are you going to get a stadium built over an active highway. At least if you’re expecting the highway to be functional on game days. If KC wants to go big with the East village proposal (regarding the high...

Seems like a more economically sustainable development than Zona Rosa. That said, the wall of office buildings on the northern edge reeks of a main user already existing, but waiting to see what they can milk out of the city. The city sorta gave away the farm to cerner for their hyper-isolated campu...

Same here. I don’t find it all that much worse than other cities’ rivers? Perhaps you could make a case for stretches of Pittsburgh or Chicago being clean, but I’m not so sure.

Lol...sheep are such a predictable animal. You kicked this thing off with a lazy "both sides...tsk tsk" to a completely valid stat that Fang posted, but I'm the sheep? Okay, then. I try to keep my cable news to a minimum. I don't really care for it. As others have said they all engage in ...

I would like to see the actual numbers. MSNBC presents data for a left political spin. Fox News does the same thing just the other way. This is the bad take and softens how destructive Fox News is. You can dislike MSNBC, but don’t pretend they and Fox News are different sides of the same coin. The ...

So sad. I hope KCUR and the other smaller news startups can fill the void. Crazy to think how much things have fallen in just 10-15 years.

I’m glad they happened! That said, they do show weaknesses in the city’s design standards, be it thru strength of enforcement or lack of standard all together. I look at that as an opportunity for growth rather than some immutable negative. If it seems I’m too harsh on Reverb compared to Loews, here...

It’s damn near the same proportionally, 3/4 inactive with metal screening. They both can suck.

Then they can get concessions on that other project, and I’d hope the neighborhood would use this project against them. But this one is already permitted, bid, and past laying foundations. If the rendering set that was posted was truly from the 9th, then (in my experience) the neighborhood likely m...

I have a hard time believing that stadium tax is going to actually go away. At least not quietly. My bet is on a campaign to re-up it to get new stadiums in downtown and either at TSC or KCK.

Re: Status and future of the River Market area??

I'm suspicious that this is anything more than a vaporware rendering for the seller; not a plug & play development plan. A glance at the zoning map still shows this as still manufacturing. A zoning change isn't a big hurdle for any buyer but does indicate a lack of seriousness on the part of the...

Re: Status and future of the River Market area??

Disagree that ASB reconstruction is some grand move any great city would make. Great cities know how to maximize their finite dollars. If bringing 9 down to grade & a HOA streetcar spur can be done for the same or lower cost as all that ASB retrofit, that’s clearly a better project. Even if it w...
