Let's be honest. Whoever bought it for millions is just using it as a asset to fund other loans. It will sit forever because the space is likely screwed for most practical uses.

Re: Three Light

All those great new York neighborhoods are because of skywalks! I’m not saying skybridges make or break neighborhoods. Plenty of arguments on either side. I’d be more supportive of a underground tunnel because it’s got a cool factor but it’s also not as practical. It’s just a interesting debate wei...

Nothing at all honestly. Just like there's nothing wrong with walking from point A to B instead of using a scooter. Using a scooter is much more convenient mode of transportation and a hell of a lot more fun!

Re: Three Light

I think the city has several committees that handle development, zoning, permitting and the likes that can handle this from a professional perspective. Not a mayor appointed commission made up of people, mostly, who know nothing about development, urbanism or..... ART!

Re: Three Light

Who do you propose? They represent taxpayers and city interests? People would use a drive thru downtown but we restrict them due to other factors but the usefulness of customers using a drive thru should be prioritized? A drive thru stands to have a major impact on all downtown drivers. Makes sense...

Re: Three Light

I tend to side with those who would have benefited from its use opposed to those forced to look at it a few times a year. Big lose for the residents. How do you weigh community opinion about something they never intend to use Vs the benefit to the hundreds or thousands of residents who would have us...

Maybe they're holding and continuing these issues for a reason. With the landscape of college athletes getting paid completely changing, hard to punish people for doing things that you know basically say is ok to do. Granted rules at the time were broke.

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

Any historic buildings? I think knocking out several standard buildings to make use of a building you can't get rid of can make sense. Doesn't matter where it goes, some things will be torn down. I'm sure most landlords and building owners-operators would take the payday. Just speculating here, agr...

Re: Three Light

The arts commission completely reworded their website “about” section to include several mentions of skybridges or anything that is “over” city property as part of their jurisdiction. Appointed people with zero knowledge about development making important decisions. They didn’t kill this project but...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

Could kill two birds if there's a way to incorporate the old KC Star building into the stadium design. Royals front office space, retail, HOF and on and on for example. And wipe out four city blocks with buildings on them? No thanks Any historic buildings? I think knocking out several standard buil...

Cleveland Browns are now eyeing a $1 billion new stadium with significant taxpayer money. Also will have mixed use development. https://twitter.com/clevelanddotcom/status/1538876321111089152?s=21&t=a06EGk0vSFokZeLMEndM9g So the Browns, Bills, Commanders, Titans are all pushing to quickly open n...

Re: World Cup 2026 at Arrowhead?

They’re saying games will move from west to east as the tournament progresses. Also, due to the heat, we may have night games.

The long term economic impact I was talking about was more about exposure and putting this city on the world map. It certainly can’t hurt.

Re: World Cup 2026 at Arrowhead?

Solid input. Only thing I'd say is knowing there's a tidal wave of money coming into the local economy in 2026 may be enough to open the checkbook. Ideally, this spurs other economic impact for decades to come. It might be crazy that we got this now, but hopefully we can be an expected shoe in for t...

Re: World Cup 2026 at Arrowhead?

So I could go make a quick youtube video for you right now. You'd see the activity in PNL alone. Every bar and restaurant has a mostly full crowd, a few hundred people gathered outside waiting for a band. Residents walking dogs etc. Of course it's 9pm on a Saturday and I'm guessing that same area h...

Re: World Cup 2026 at Arrowhead?

I'm just defending myself here. I didn't say downtown was run down, I said many parts of downtown have some really bad deteriorating infrastructure outside the P&L district. But honestly "parts" of the greater downtown area are pretty run down too, especially east of Grand. When I sai...
