Talking with the Kids that day, guess the city almost closed it down because of trash, tagging ect. Everyone came together and cleaned it up to save it.

Heres and old picture from the KC Library. Located at 406 w. 17th. This was my first apartment out of highschool.It had a small bedroom small livingroom and kitchen. They looked like that when I lived there back in the late 60's early 70's. Had trash shoots so you didn't have to walk down the back stairs, but they are gone now. These could be nice with alot of work.

I moved to Az in 1985 after the Royals won the series. Have been going back to K.C. for the last 3 years with my 90 yr old Grandma to put flowers on all the families graves. Was at Union station video taping the opening of the Century Box in 2001. New to this board. Love seeing all the great picture...

I went to Ben Franklin at 13th and washington. I lived in the apartments next to the one in the picture from 1966 to 1971. Live in Tucson AZ now but go back to KC every Memorial Day.
