Re: Google picks KCK/KCMO for ultra fast fiber network
google must be loading apartment complexes into the system that prequaled as a whole because the second fiberhood met their goal in the first 15 minutes and I reloaded and the second one went from 50+ to finished in a matter of seconds

Re: Google picks KCK/KCMO for ultra fast fiber network
the maps are up. South of the river the new area is confusing at best but it follows established neighborhoods basically. Northwest is Staley and the older areas north of 152 and then west of 169. Northeast is everything else in KCMO north of the river JoCo is coming in 2014, you can see how they wi...

since it's privately funded there's way less public discourse over it's merits, probably would need to contact the developer directly

Re: Phase 2 streetcar to UMKC
There was a piece on a Virginia special election race I read recently. The democrats mentioned one thing they did was talk with spouses of undecided individuals to get the personal touch. That's how crazy specific campaign targeting is these days. You skip doors to focus on those most on the fence a...

It was perfectly professional for his twitter account to say that. as a trial attorney and former president of the KC bar, i agree that he probably has a good idea about how to conduct himself professionally. I do too, doesn't mean I always say the right thing. "The city is just trying to ram ...

This building was at risk of going into foreclosure, or something like that. Thus, I'm not surprised they haven't replaced any lights.KCLover wrote:Half the lights on top of 1KCP are burnt out and haggard looking.

In all seriousness, this shows Stretch still doesn't get it.
Operation Green Light coordinates 700 traffic signals regionally. His post clearly implies nothing is being done when that's far from the truth.

Re: fun with parking in KC
All those seem pretty common sense. you'd think so. before one thinks about no parking spots, just inside the loop I've found multiple marked parking spots that *technically* allow parking in front of fire hydrants, the worst thing to do on that list there were once two illegal parking spots immedi...

fun with parking in KC
Did you know KCMO code forbids on street parking within 4 feet of a driveway of any kind? Lest you think this is a commercial driveway, your home driveway applies too, the law is that broadly worked. Perhaps there's a contingency law but I haven't found it yet. Every curb cut removes the width of th...

there was a similar project in St. Louis in terms of history and scale and someone trying. Pruitt-Igoe was the result. This was another case with actual slum lords. What they did was based on the best information they had at the time. Oh, the city of st louis made many wrong decisions but doing noth...

Re: Phase 2 streetcar to UMKC
Because I haven't been to all of the meetings, Dave, could you rank each corridor in terms of resident enthusiasm and opposition to the project? I suspect it would be Main, Indie Ave, Linwood, CCROW, but that's just a guess at Indie Ave's mood. NKC wins easily. It's not the size of the meetings but...
