Re: OFFICIAL: Zona Rosa (tenants & phase II)

Odowds has closed at Zona Rosa. The Limited and J Jill have opened. Wet Seal to open soon. Michaels to open were Ethan Allen was...I think. It too bad to see the bar scene leave Zona. With tomfoolieries and Odowds closing...it doesn't leave much else. There is still Fat Fish Blue, 54th Street, and B...

Re: Hen House vs. Hy Vee on NW 64th St.

I think they both will survive. I was just in the Hen House last week. The remodel is really nice. In Liberty, there's a super walmart, super target, 2 price choppers, and a brand new HyVee all in less than one mile from each other.

Re: Zona Rosa parking meter money towards charity and tickets

I just got a ticket there the other day. I put 1.50 in for an hour and half, but they are only 1 hour max...so they gave me a ticket after a little over an hour. So stupid.

This is really exciting for the Plaza and the Missouri side. I'm glad this didn't land at Oak Park Mall or someplace in southern joco.

Courtyard?? Really. We already have those up north.
A Renissance brand would have been more of a unique destination for out of town guests....

I agree with that. I hope the Plaza doesn't lose all the little guys.

I hope Balsano works out in the P&L, it seems like they will really miss out on the foot traffic. Who's walking about at 2pm on a Wednesday? No one.

Re: Chouteau Parkway Transformation to Begin in 2012

What's sad is that the City/Parks department deem it necessary to had no commericial real estate along Parkways. Searcy Creek, Line Creek, and Shoal Creek parkways are prime examples. This area already has barely no basic services such as grocery, restaurants, or other shops. Now just south of the T...

Re: More development in the Northland ...

The interchanges at 96th and 108th are needed for the existing development west of North Oak. 169 is pretty much a limited access highway, and those two intersections are super dangerous. It is ridiculous that the city will be installing additional infrastructure for future development. I have seen ...

Re: OFFICIAL: Zona Rosa (tenants & phase II)

ZR has been busy with new tenants, but... The Wine Loft, and New Orleans Bistro, and 24 hour diner, are no longer going to happen. And Decori has closed. However, Spencers, Chocolatirie Stam, and Planet Sub have opened. Buffalo Wild Wings, and Parmida Home will open next year. I really wish ZR would...

Re: Dick's Sporting Goods coming to Liberty Triangle

The HyVee should be opening soon. I am not sure if the Northland needs two Dick's Sporting goods, but in keeping with tradition, it only makes sense to have one in Clay and one in Platte.

Re: North Brighton section to be closed for about 5 weeks

Seems like progress has been made. The second bridge is complete, and it looks like there finished with grading along the road for future sidewalks. There is a little bit of road work left south and north of the two bridges, but I assume that will be done soon.. Its amazing the built a the Bond Brid...

Re: Northland talking secession from KC?

Per the US Census Bureau, the Kansas City, Missouri population within the city limits in 2006, was estimated at 447,000. I have seen 2010 predictions at around 456,000. I would say that Clay and Platte represent nearly a 1/3 if not more of that number. The current layout of the city especially up no...

Re: OFFICIAL: Antioch Center

Antioch and Vivion was the crossroads of the Northland for 30+ years. For the last 15 years or so not so much. I too am in the architecture/design field and live up north. I really hope the new development attempts to intergrate the neighborhoods, creating cross streets and multiple building uses. H...

Re: Metro North Mall

I agree with Dangerboy. Although I wish there wasn't all three shopping areas along one highway (152), but I think that the Northland can support it. It would be awesome if the redeveloped Antioch Mall became a Fairway Shops, Brookside, Prarie Village type of destination.

Re: Metro North Mall

I agree it wasn't a great mall and I also agree that MD management doesn't have the best track record. I was always mad that the mall was never full. The bottom side by Montgomery Wards always had empty spots. But ZR definately killed Metro. It was more than just a few stores...Lane Bryant, Gap, Exp...
