Re: DOES KC HAVE IT???
As to finding jobs - I think it is fair to say that KC is probably one of the easiest labor markets in the country. I can't say I agree 100% with that for my industry (IT), but things have greatly improved in the last year. I had to take a job in St Louis after graduating from school in '02 as Sp...

Re: Dec. 22 Press Conference
I totally agree. They need to lay it all out. I honestly don't know what that $500+ million will buy. It can't cost that to put in some new plumbing, etc, can it? I would like to see some breakdowns of where the money is going.

A fav of my fam's is a little Chinese place off 40 in Independence called Golden House. It's behind the Salty Iguana just west of 291. This crazy Asian guy named Robert owns it. He always remembers you and what you order, and chats with you to your wits end. And the food is really good--not your...

I'm in the same position as you, Skim...young prof looking to buy my first place, and Rivermarket to Crossroads really appeals to me. I've not seen any numbers that the developers surely have access to, but I can't see how the demand will keep up with the supply in the coming years. By the time th...

Here's a few shots I took. I arrived as they were finishing the turn from 2nd to Grand (which took half an hour, I was told). The "short" span went first. http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g205/mrjeffreed/ShortyOver70.jpg http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g205/mrjeffreed/LongyOver70.jpg h...

A buddy of mine who works at T-Mobil says they've been looking for another location for that store for quite some time (strip mall near by maybe). That store is very busy in that mall...

A buddy of mine had Omaha in the top 3. Along with Springfield, MO.kcdcchef wrote: wonder if it ever sends anyone to omaha.
He said something about picking 'Neutral' for most answeres.

Website suggests cities that fit your likes
Hi. Longtime lurker, new'ish poster. A friend sent me this site the other day. It basically asks you some questions and suggests cities that fit. Apparently I need to move to the left coast. Anyway, it's a neat waste of 10 minutes time. (Just fill in crap on the last two pages that ask for your...

Re: StL Trip
Sounds like a good trip. Glad you ventured in to "the City". I lived in St Louis for the last three and a half years and recently moved back to KC. I moved in to the City after awhile and have to say I enjoyed it much better there (between Hampton and Kingshighway north of Chippewa) the...

Whoa, speak of the devil. There it is! That's awesome--thanks for the great pictures! I suppose they're staging it up there somewhere until parade day?

Re: Pedestrian bridge from Union Station to Freighthouse distric
Has anyone heard if this is still supposed to be paraded down Grand next Sunday (Jan. 15th)? I saw that date in a Star article awhile back but haven't heard any updates. I wanna go watch.
