Re: GO ROYALS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I attended the game today. Yes, it was windy, but the kids enjoyed getting splashed with water from the fountains. People were having a good time too. Leaving with a win is the highlight of today. The fact no one shows up to the games is because of three factors. 1. Location. Why attend a game wher...

Re: FBI Campus
FBI moving to the northland per cityscene Was up at KCI today. Noticed the new FBI building. Looks like another government fortress. It looked up and running or about to be (Google Maps still lists the DT location as FBI HQ). Any idea what will become of the current FBI offices downtown? That area ...

Re: OFFICIAL - Pennway Point
I've thought about what happens to that complex once the IRS processing needs are reduced by online filing to the point they don't need that space any longer and start consolidating all the processing centers into just one final one. Does Fed Ex take it over as a processing center? Amazon fulfillme...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
Oh, so you must work there. Yeah, I don't know the details or what kind of parking is available on the actual block of the KC fed building. I never really noticed how many fed buildings there are right around the arena and convention center in Baltimore. It's not a great area though. Too many gover...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
Just attended a concert in Baltimore. We parked in a huge garage under a major federal building. Hundreds of other cars going to the concert parked there as well. They have to be making money, I only paid $15 using parkwhiz in advance, but many were paying the $45 fee at the gate. I'm only saying t...

Re: OFFICIAL - Pennway Point
When I look at these photos, I focus on the wasted space fronting the east side of Broadway because of the IRS Processing Center's set-back. It seems such a waste. It is. Seeing the interior of the IRS is even more depressing. A 3/4 empty parking garage in the MIDDLE of tax season. It’s wild how mu...

Re: GO ROYALS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
with remote work, how much of the federal building is occupied? and hasn't the amount space occupied in the AT&T building been downsized? 70-80%ish. They’ve consolidated a few mish mashed agencies to the offices in the past few years. Also the Army corps seems to have expanded their footprint i...

Re: OFFICIAL: Power & Light District
Be cool if they made a way to make like a Sunday day baseball game watch party a more organized event. I've done it a couple times just to be in a 3rd place and be outside with baseball game on but it's never very active. They've done those before, even with the Royals involved bringing down Slugge...

Re: GO ROYALS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Over .500 with a few disappointing losses. I think the team needs to learn to play better together. Feels like we can get there. Seems they have the energy for sure. The losses so far were very much manageable, and had and obvious near single point of failure. A comeback win and a solid performance...

Re: New Chiefs Stadium
People use KC tenants like a freaking crutch. They aren't that powerful. It's pure inept KC leadership. Just like this vote was purely on the owners but everybody blaming KC tenants. Lol. KC, JACO & Royals leadership are all inept, no question, but you’re naive if you think the Tenants don’t ha...

Re: Is KC Tenants destroying the development future of downtown KCMO?
Looks like we can add another billion or so in losses to the list. It's a shame so many people still write off such a powerful organization and cannot admit that their actions are having costly reactions. They're continuing to bring development to a grinding halt in this town. RIP Royals. RIP Chief...

Re: Is KC Tenants destroying the development future of downtown KCMO?
Source? I don’t doubt they have impacted development, but other factors such as interest rates and a SEC investigation for one specific developer have contributed as well. Sources: https://clerk.kcmo.gov/Legislation.aspx , Cityscene, https://kctenants.org/press I think you are making the common mis...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
Moved here as an outsider and feel regardless of location there's an insurmountable car centric mentality that just can't be defeated. Makes me want to consider my options and start to look elsewhere. Reaction over the next few weeks is key but it's an uphill battle. I have lived here 25 years and ...

Re: Generic ongoing KCATA thread
Worth noting, KCMO did not fully cover the KCATA budget. Either deep cuts inbound or fares will be returning. Also, KCK getting a reworked transit network, but they too are facing cuts. Fares making a comeback then? Fare free transit doesn’t really remove any barriers to entry if routes are cut and...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
I can disagree that the teams did a terrible job here. But they objectively did do a terrible job here, by basically any metric you could evaluate and measure the effort. They blew their own arbitrary deadlines, they provided half baked information that raised more question than answered, they let ...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
It is mildly concerning to see the amount of the “vote no” crowd who genuinely believe that no matter what happens neither team will ever leave the metro. These people are wildly ignorant or incredibly sheltered to genuinely believe that another city won’t be rolling out the red carpet should either...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
Less than 10% margin is enough that it can be moved. A lot of the KCMO, but especially the Urban KCMO votes could be swayed with some refinement, and an actual semi competent campaign. I’m disappointed with the outcome, but nothing that can’t be overcome. Let’s all keep motivated and optimistic, eve...
