Re: TIME TO FREAK OUT AGAIN ABOUT CONFERENCE REALIGNMENT! TH
Your posts are always full of reason and logic. ;-) I'm not going to argue that my arguements aren't totally based on emotion. I'm pissed! The team that I am (was) a fan of moved conferences purely because of the need to break an odd number and the requirement of the SEC to choose a state that foug...

Re: TIME TO FREAK OUT AGAIN ABOUT CONFERENCE REALIGNMENT! TH
I'm beginning to feel that Kansas City is getting a bad deal being in Missouri. I know that cities have annexed other cities. Has it ever happened where a state annexed part of another state?

Re: TIME TO FREAK OUT AGAIN ABOUT CONFERENCE REALIGNMENT! TH
Maybe Missouri is staying in the Big 12 and we can move this whole thread to the rumors section.

Re: The KCMO School District
How do we know every single Brookside/Waldo/South Plaza Parent wants to send their kids to a public school? Hell, families from Leawood, and JoCo send their kids to private schools on the missouri and kansas side and kansas has really good schools. Meige and Aquinas have close to 3000 students comb...

Re: The KCMO School District
How big of a high school do you envision? If you want Southwest close to capacity (using your word 'fill') then my proposal would be close. I would anticipate growth to 250 students per class. You wouldn't get that on the front end but you want room to grow. There are enough students in the Waldo/B...

Re: The KCMO School District
So, what would be AKP's response to segregation? Going to smaller school districts is one solution. With regards to the suggestion of just "Brookside" as a school distict go east to include the area next to Raytown SD. That should soften the segregation question. Too big. Start out with a...

Re: The KCMO School District
Center, Hickman Mills, Grandview, and Raytown have minority majority student populations, or close to it. To form a school district, out of a minority majority district, that would have a large white majority population would have the appearances of segregation. So, what would be AKP's response to ...

Re: The KCMO School District
One recent reform that has exceeded expectations is the Independence School District’s annexation of several former Kansas City district buildings. Student achievement and family satisfaction at the schools improved markedly and quickly. Discussions about further annexations or contracting Kansas C...

Re: TIME TO FREAK OUT AGAIN ABOUT CONFERENCE REALIGNMENT! TH
If Missouri is going to make so much money moving to the SEC, then why are they holding this up because of the Big 12 exit fee? Pay it and be gone!

Re: TIME TO FREAK OUT AGAIN ABOUT CONFERENCE REALIGNMENT! TH
Looks like Missouri got the boot.“Beginning with the 2012-13 season it is expected that the Big 12 Conference will be comprised of 10 universities—Baylor, Iowa State, Kansas, Kansas State, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, TCU, Texas, Texas Tech and West Virginia,” the statement said.

Re: TIME TO FREAK OUT AGAIN ABOUT CONFERENCE REALIGNMENT! TH
Missouri is about to look really, really stupid! You mean when Mizzou is invited to take the 14th SEC slot? The same slot that WVU coveted and pleaded for after the ACC turned its nose up at them? The same WVU that was deemed unworthy by the SEC, then ecstatically welcomed by many in the Big XII as...

http://www.nytimes.com/2011/10/27/sports/ncaafootball/big-12-may-admit-louisville-not-west-virginia.html?_r=1 Here's how this plays out: SEC takes WV instead of MU with Senator McConnell pushing UK to rally SEC votes against the Tigers. MU stays with Louisville and BYU added along with ND nonfootball.

Re: TIME TO FREAK OUT AGAIN ABOUT CONFERENCE REALIGNMENT! TH
^^^ agreed! I went to tigerboard last week and was embarrassed by the personal nature of the attacks on people who disagreed. Most childish responses and anger I have ever seen against people who just expressed a differing opinion. MU nation should be ashamed.

Re: Kemper Arena - Demolition
Why don't they turn it into a farmers market? The one in the River Market is so crowded in the summer and with Kemper you could make it year round. Could even have a butcher, etc.
