Re: OFFICIAL - City Club Apartments (former Midwest Hotel)

For a club like that, you need to make sure you have proper transportation; A stretch hummer limo that blocks the streetcar, has external speakers blasting at pedestrians, and a laser light show on its roof that shines into adjacent apartment and condo windows is key to your clubs short lifespan! Re: beer.

I had Boulevard's Kolsch the other night. Good, solid light beer. Reason for the post...I was surprised it is contract brewed by Firestone Walker (according to the fine print on the can). Didn't know Boulevard was doing that. I looked it up to confirm what I suspected, but Firestone is also now owne...

Re: Plaza move-ins (ongoing)

Oh, speaking of store fronts, I have to give Sprint credit. They filled the vacated/old Apple Store space and placed all their Apple/iPhone branded marketing right inside the windows. If you werent paying attention you'd think you were walking into the Apple store. Cracked me up.

Trumps son in law has a stake in One and Two Light. I don't think this is accurate but I can find out for sure? Where are you getting this info? Kushner Co. is a single-digit minority partner according Cordish as reported by the Star and Business Journal http://www.bizjournals.com/kansascity/news/2...

Re: Zipper merge: is it the legal way in MO and KS?

It's the way I learned to drive in New England so perhaps I have a bias, but yes, it is way safer and more efficient. Mostly because you don't have a Masshole blowing down the left lane 25 mph faster than the right lane then merging last second. You have 2 lanes moving the same speed which makes for...

Re: Zipper merge: is it the legal way in MO and KS?

I saw it work flawlessly over the summer on I-70 somewhere between KC and Columbia, but they had huge signs for a couple miles explaining it. Later on the same trip (so presumably many of the same drivers from the first merge) the zipper went very poorly with another lane closure that had no signage...

Re: NHL OR NBA, let the message board decide!!

I took the Mavericks statement as meaning they would not be the AHL team. Not that there wouldn't be an AHL team, it would just be a different team than the Mavericks. That was my thought as well since it's a statement from the Mavs GM and not Lamar or Tom Tilley. Also somewhat answers the question...

Re: hyde park: believe the hype?

Fox4 did a news segment on multiple break-ins in Hyde Park and interviewed a resident who will be moving because she feels unsafe. Unfortunate to hear. They actually included a map as well, to their credit, rather than saying something ambiguous like "in the Plaza area." http://fox4kc.com/...

I'm not trying to be snarky, so I'm sorry if this comes off that way, but why is a streetcar to the riverfront park appealing? Maybe I'm out of date on my understanding on the plans for the area, only thing that seems to be moving forward is Bar-K. Isn't the mixed use development ideas really reall...
