Des Moines's Jordan Creek Tenant List

http://www.jordancreektowncenter.com/html/Shops.asp

When I lived in Des Moines we drove to Kansas City to shop at the stores on this tenant list. These are all in a very well defined area along I-35. Opens August 4th. Will open during Tax Free Holiday.

Getting screwed at Zona Rosa.....

Is Zona Rosa totally misunderstood? 1.It is a new urban lifestyle center, not to be compared to Oak Park. 2.It is designed to be fluid and growth will happen at a slower more natural pace than a big new enclosed mall. 3.It is better to start with more common stores and work slowing up the scale than...

Move to new KC plant slows Postal Service operations By MATT CAMPBELL - The Kansas City Star Date: 08/29/99 22:15 Mail service deteriorated and employee overtime increased after the U.S. Postal Service moved into its new Kansas City distribution plant three weeks ago. The operation, which handles up...

Great picture, thank you. So is the building pictured being used by the Post Office? Also, I was told that the taller warehouse loft building, close to downtown NKC, was the main KC Sears warehouse. Does anyone know? Any old pictures of that building?

Liberty Parkway

Yes, Liberty is missing the tax revenue from the "Big Box" stores on Hwy 152 but actually the Liberty landscape isn’t as well suited for big box stores. Although a new Lowe’s is being built in the Liberty Triangle development along with 3 unannounced new restaurants. But for the “Lib...

Fireworks in the River Market?

I hear you tat2kc. I was so proud to be showing off KC and all the fine people who turned out for this event. I spoke to many people who said this was the first time they ever attended a downtown festival. I would have felt different had they annouced that they had a firework problem.

Fireworks in the River Market?

I invited friends from Omaha to come see the show, we attended their show two years ago and it was top notch, very memorable, we were so disappointed in the KC show and weren’t given an explanation. We also wanted to see the bridge lighting but they didn't turn on until we were driving away. My Om...

Fireworks at Riverfront Park

If anyone else saw the laser light show and fireworks in Berkley Riverfront Park and was annoyed by the bright lights from the TV 5 news set of Katie Horner, please drop them a note. They could have pointed their lights away from the spectators.

Thank You in advance.

honestly, do you LIKE the northland?

Yes, Liberty, the Northland, I can go from Downtown to a country like setting in minutes with less traffic. My only complaint is the lack of east/west roads. When I lived in Des Moines and Omaha they both built big wide roads to nowhere and development would follow. Here it appears development comes...

honestly, do you LIKE the northland?

When I was first moved to KC and was asking about places to live with school aged children everyone insisted on JOCO, "YOU MUST", ONLY JOCO, BE CAREFUL, FEAR........FEAR....... Yet I needed to be close to the airport, St. Joe and downtown. No one recommended Liberty or many other Northland...

We enjoy Liberty. We looked at several areas in the metro and found the Liberty area to have the best mix of old history and potential future urbanism. We look forward to watching the area grow. You can choose between plain suburban, JOCO like or brick street - back alley lifestyles. We are a quick ...

KC's retail graveyard

Hy-Vee has made an effort to purchase and remodel older stores instead of building from the ground up. The have reused buildings on Hwy 40 & Noland, N Oak & Englewood and St. Joe Belt Hwy.. It often brings more tenants and activity to these corners.

The Star: Pull Union Station out of mediocrity

After a recent visit to the Kansas City Museum on Gladstone, I can't believe that this same group was trusted with the Union Station Museum. Was the present KC Museum considered a huge success before they were entrusted with the larger Union Station project? The KC Museum is a disgrace. The JOCO mus...

Will there be room for Metro North?

I wouldn’t be interested in shopping at North Metro or Oak Park for the same reasons, BORING. I do like the Plaza and have also been to ZR several times already, I like the traffic, the outdoors, the mix, etc... Even during the winter.

Zona Rosa A city unto itself to open WED. Looks great!!!!

[quote] I don't know of any REALLY nice houses around except Riss lake and Briarcliff. I take exception to this statement. Northland's Liberty is scattered with several neighborhoods with $1m plus homes and these homes don't look fake or out of place like many of the JOCO homes. In addition I can na...

Don't forget the Liberty side. Have you seen the homes in Shoal Valley, Montclair, Bent Oaks and Liberty has several small upscale neighborhoods.

Zona Rosa vs. Boardwalk

I visited Zona Rosa today and managed to walk all the streets before being asked to leave. It really does look like a downtown of a small city. Everything is very unique right down to the sewer grates that feature a Zona Rosa emblem. The scale is small enough to keep you walking further down the str...
