Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
Where has a pro stadium been built over an active interstate? Man if that could happen sure that's a lot more doable but there is zero way that happens. Target Field. Blake Cordish and the mayor wouldn’t be wasting time if this wasn’t possible. I think Target field mostly comes right up against the...

From what I have knowledge of combined with the rendering. https://i.ibb.co/dcWxbNV/BBP2.png If this is the site boundaries being considered it is a lot less destructive than what was discussed months ago. One block of east crossroads east of Oak leveled instead of four and sparing the east side of...

Re: KU/KCK <-----> TSC East/West Transit
Am I misremembering that the whole reason a Linwood stop was not included in the Main St extension was something along the lines of fulfilling a federal funding requirement to show reduced travel times over existing MAX service? It's ok to infill a stop later on if needed for a line transfer?

Re: KU/KCK <-----> TSC East/West Transit
I have questions. This is terminating at Van Brunt? Not continuing on to Arrowhead and Rock Island Trail? A Linwood routing will add another stop for the Main Street extension, slowing that route? I don't understand why they don't go with 31st. No additional stops added to Main E 31st west of Troost...

Re: Martini Corner near 31st/Gilham
That is the location. I agree the property across the street does not make this location an easy sell, nor does the pawn shop, 7-11, and other junk on Linwood. Does that make this land blighted? I don't know, but I don't think a tax abatement moves the needle much in attracting buyers.

To be clear: the townhouses were scrapped. This project is now 12 detached single family houses on 35 to 40 foot lots. A rezone from manufacturing to R-1.5 was already approved and they have approval on the preliminary plat for 12 lots. They can build this by-right. Only a blight designation was den...

Re: VeLa Crossroads (Broadway and Southwest)
Something looks really off with that second rendering looking SE. Site map and first rendering show this comprised of two parcels (which also would require vacating the alley) so it is built right up to the NW corner of SW Trfy and Broadway. But second rendering you can clearly see the parking lot o...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
The Royals late September stadium decision is coming up soon now. I wonder if we will start to see any leaks in the following week? Tough decision but it's going to NKC. Actually not kidding. I believe it. Quinton Lucas and Frank White have an adversarial relationship and you have a council that ko...

Re: Capping the Loop
I understand the fears about affecting streetcar performance with closing one or both of Baltimore and Walnut, however it seems like basically no one uses those streets today. At "rush hour" and other busy times of the day you will find Main Street choked with traffic and slowing the stree...

What was the sporting goods store in the middle of the old picture? I can't remember the name but it was all the rage when I was a kid. I remember we made a special trip down there (I grew up in Platte City) when I was a kid, but that was a long time ago. I’m thinking it was called the “Sportscastl...

NKC should be a non-starter without a guaranteed streetcar extension over the river. EV will have office users, residents, and hotel guests in the immediate area walking there. EV will pull these types of people arriving by foot from an even larger area because of the streetcar, especially in light ...
