Re: Any cool rentals out there???
I have a house for rent. It's four bedrooms and three bathrooms. It's just west of Brookside Blvd and about 3 blocks south of Visitation on 53rd. The rent is $1600 so that might be more than your friend wanted but it would be great for a group of single people wanting to live together. Walk to L...

Re: OFFICIAL - KC Star Printing Press
This is what I was talking about when asking if the press could do other types of print. I was wondering if they could do other commercial work besides the paper. This seems to make sense for the long run, in that, there will always be print. I just don't think the paper will continue in its curr...

Re: Adler building
This is kind of off topic, but, I have a very old brick house and I can't get a few spot of paint off. How do they do that on a whole building like this without sandblasting the brick to bits? My house is 125 years old and the paint spots are pretty much baked in at this point. Anyone have ideas?...

Re: OFFICIAL - KC Star Printing Press
Yeah, I just don't understand getting the paper. First of all it's more than half coupons and advertisements. It's a huge waste of paper and energy, AND you have to pay for it as opposed to getting it free online. Sure doesn't make sense. I guess you old boomer farts will be pushing sales for aw...

Re: OFFICIAL - KC Star Printing Press
I don't really understand why the Star would want to build a new press. Print papers will be gone in less than a decade. Are they setup for other types of print?

I just don't get it! You have to pay a woman to get naked for you? No touching allowed. Why not just get your wife or girlfriend to dance for you. Seems kind of pathetic.

Wow, this isn't my belief in Christianity at all!eliphar17 wrote: tat2kc, I sincerely hope you understand that Christianity is first and foremost about a person's spiritual relationship with their Creator and his Son their Savior. Everything else, including how they actually live their lives, is secondary.

Re: Senator wants to show exit to Missouri's adult businesses
I guess I don't really understand the draw of pornographic magazine shops. Why don't these people just get their porn from the internet in their own homes? To me, I think all of it is just kind of sick. Strip joints with woman dancing around naked for money seems barbaric to me. I guess it seems...

Re: University District...better late than never!
I just think the area around the Landing is a really pretty area and could be a good base for helping redevelopment up and down Troost and even east towards the Paseo. You have the beautiful Spanish-style building up on the hill (not sure what it is now, used to be a convent) and some other nice bu...

Re: University District...better late than never!
Oh, yeah, there is a whole Troost corridor redevelopment plan that focuses on this area. It has plans for masking parking areas and creating "hot spots" of development density. It should make a big difference in bringing life back to the street. I think Troost could be great in 10 y...

Re: Health Levy
Someone tell me why Children's Mercy, St. Luke's, KUMed and all the other private hospitals can turn a profit but Truman needs millions of dollars in public subsidies?

Re: Health Levy
Which do you prefer? Slightly higher property taxes or significantly higher health insurance premiums? So, by passing this levy, health insurance premiums aren't going to go up? Private hospitals give the same care as Truman even though some patients don't have insurances and can't afford it...

Re: Health Levy
I don't understand why 65% of this money is going to one hospital. How come Truman can't cover itself like all the others? Personally, I'm just tired of my property tax going up every single time there's an election. Sure, everyone is saying, "Well, it's on $56 or a few hundred". You'r...

Re: New KC Downtown Ballpark proposal ~ Renderings + Plan
Hey, we get it. You don't want to talk about it. Heard you the first time. The reason it IS important to talk about is because with the rapid expansion of downtown there aren't going to be as many prime locations left in a few years. The Union Station plot that I've talked about, for example...

Re: New KC Downtown Ballpark proposal ~ Renderings + Plan
I work for the Company that owns the majority of that land that is in the newly proposed plan and knowing my company like I do I can almost guarantee they would not be in favor of this plan as that land is needed for employee parking and the building on that land just recently had a complete intern...

Re: Sasaki Team Posits Another Future BallPark Site
You know, I like it! It's not as good as the site next to US (I'm just about done beating that horse) and it's one of the secondary sites that I saw. Plenty of space and close to a lot of other ammenities. I'll have to say that Washington looks too small. Thought that from the beginning. Scooter...

Re: New KC Downtown Ballpark proposal ~ Renderings + Plan
Michael- Can you show a layout for Washington park? Using satelitte imagining it seems to be too small without diverting Main street and tearing down both the BCBS building and the building next to US. Personally, if we are going to tear down buildings (all locations have some demolition) I'd say t...

beautyfromashes Sounds good. Â Identify the site and provide your own study. Â Keep in mind we're talking about a major league baseball stadium here, so take in to account the little things like seating and surrounding parking for 30,000+ people, and a footprint of about 900,000 usable square ft. Â...
