Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
I do think there's time to get the word out. If for some reason this vote fails, I think we can expect another try in the fall and if that fails, we have lost our one chance at downtown baseball. They will not be renovating Kauffman and they just need to say that, amongst other things. They need to...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
I honestly had no idea the extent to which something like having other buildings nearby would affect the feds' view of security of their own buildings. I mean the presence of other building wouldn't seem to affect the possibility of a truck borne IED... maybe sniper attacks..? I digress because I'm...

https://i.imgur.com/QyEkFhA.jpeg The top two outlined structures are the FAA/FTA building, and it’s associated parking garage, the southern is the Richard Bolling federal facility, and it’s associated parking infrastructure. The cost that FPS, GSA, and by extension the American tax payer is liable ...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
That’s the infuriating part, is the anti-downtown stadium types have hijacked the messaging coming from the EC skeptics and turned their message equally into an anti downtown stadium

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
The Royals and Chiefs have over a million dollars to spend on this campaign as of today but there’s been nothing. They’re trying to be sensitive to the tragedy our City experienced last week which I understand but they need to hit back at all the negativity out there. Of course they want a United f...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
It's funny about the Feds concerns about safety. I know times are different now but I remember there was a post office in the building open to the public. Commercial businesses were at street level on the south side (one was a jeweler I knew). The public could come in and eat a cheap lunch at the c...

Color me skeptical on the Feds shut this down narrative that is now bubbling up. We all know the Feds can present obstacles to get projects to completion, but just like the FAA there are exceptions given all the time. I mean, in Chicago the Federal Building and GSA building are located in the Loop ...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
Damn it I meant to go to that. You must have been too busy throwing out wild allegations and speculations as absolute truths. The main entrance to the site would’ve been barely a block from the main vehicle entrance and loading dock area of the Fed building, and a block and a half from the front do...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
Not the only issue, but security concerns raised by GSA and FPS at the Federal building, as well as the FTA & FAA buildings meant that the site was ruled out. It’s annoying for sure, but it doesn’t outlaw development in EV forever, just not things that generate large crowds regularly. If this i...

I might have missed it but why was East Village eliminated as a site? Afterall it was one of the two choices remaining when the team eliminated a few others. Not the only issue, but security concerns raised by GSA and FPS at the Federal building, as well as the FTA & FAA buildings meant that th...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
Oak closing to vehicle traffic is a non-starter is the issue. Having that many thoroughfares over 670 closed (when you include the Cap closures and Grands frequency of closure) destroys any hope of Streetcar being functional unless Main was closed to vehicle traffic and became a transit-way. It see...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
Oak is closed for sure on the renderings we've all seen. Truman is tunneled under the park cap. While I know closing Oak is hated by some, it creates a really cool pedestrian experience. The bridge over Truman funnels to the upper concourse which is acts as an outfield plaza in between the building...

Almost a year since opening and people are still happy with the new terminal over the old ones. You love to see and hear it! except some people who fly little who now have to walk a little more Heart disease is the number one killer of Americans annually. I don’t care if people have to walk

It's nice to see Q is serious about crime.
