Re: Nordstrom To Open Northland Location
Norstrom's in Clay County? Seriously? Platte or even Eastern Jax before Clay. I know there are a lot of new, upscale homes in Clay County, but they have a long way to go before they even compete with Lee's Summit, let alone the JoCo and Platte areas. Not to mention that Clay is still a very blue...

Re: Oklahoma City recommendations
In all seriousness KCPowercat try and remember that OKC is growing just as fast if not faster than the KC Metro. With that being said when you're down there try and find a good reason why. Sure it's somewhat warmer there in the winter and it's the state capital but it has to be more than that. I'...

AT&T Uverse
Anyone have this product as opposed to cable or dish? My neighborhood finally has it and I'm debating whether to switch from Time Warner Cable. Uverse has NFL Network, includes HD receivers, has more HD channels and has unique channels like the Big 10 Network which is also HD. Time Warner's Roadr...

Typical new suburbia high school. The landscape is dotted with athletic fields but no one has any clue where the library is.

Re: How do we keep Independence Center from becoming the next Bannister Mall?
I guess I'll be the one to point out the obvious. This is the main reason mall's across the U.S. are in decline and new "lifestyle" shopping centers are the in thing. American's weren't demanding mixed use projects which include retail, housing, office etc. They were demanding a safe pl...

I thought the KC Metro area was already female friendly. Just look at all the retail.

Light rail hasn't made St. Louis any better of a city. Its population is declining as fast as ever (in spite of what the leaders claim) and the place is still full of blight, crime, and problems. But they have a pretty rail system......lol Stupid comment. KCK still has more in common with Enid, OK...

Re: McFadden's
I went there last night. Corned beef/cabbage was the best I've had. Aside from that, I doubt if I return. It's conveninet for pre-Sprint Center event fun, but what is it? Kind of an irish place, but not enough to really be an irish place. Kind of a sports bar, but not enough to really be a spo...

Re: Kansas v. Ohio - Sprint Center
Now, time for a smart ass response to Grid/Michael: You just be glad Kansas provides a tenant for your empty arena, if only for 1 nite. Sprint Center needs KU more than vice versa. If you really think about it ticket prices are basically the actual price of the ticket, local and state sales tax...

True computers are nice to learn and they are everywhere but they are not any good when there is a loss of power.
Good lord. Now I know why Kansans are still debating evolution. Please stay in Topeka.

I completely agree with Beermo. Go the MODOR office in the Petco building. Rarely a line. I love how Kansas you don't have a front license plate but they sure do wanna know what county you're from. I'm sure this helps law enforcement in Joco. Anyone with a WY or front license plate may as well ...

We're hopeful he'll get an attractive scholarship offer... realizing it's a competitive world out there. He's a national merit semifinalist, top 1% of his class of 600, and scored a 36 on his ACT (one of Nebraska's "Magnificient Seven" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V9K1SewGp10 ). Yes.....

Re: Embarq Will Make Decision on Office Location By Year's End
Is there anything on the drawing board, a plan or any hope that Eastern Jack can create/lure white collar jobs?WTF?
Central? haha that's awesome
Sprint would do great out here, I mean, they have 1000's of employees that make that ejax to joco commute.
But come on Sprint, go Downtown!

Re: Embarq Will Make Decision on Office Location By Year's End
How is Lee's Summit and Blue Springs central to anything? Unless they're counting their local territories that they offer local service in MO and KS. You're totally right about the their very old workforce. Which is why I say ditch the suburban environment and relocate in the core or I would almo...

Re: Embarq Will Make Decision on Office Location By Year's End
This needs to happen for the following reasons: 1. Embarq is now a competitor of Sprint's. I lose deals to them all the time in the Southeast U.S. 2. Sprint is still leasing office space at locations through Joco such as the one I'm located at in Lenexa. Kick the Embarq employee's off campus and...

Any idea when the district will disclose the boundries regarding Kellybrook elementary? I live in Benson Place and want to know if my kids will go to Shoal Creek or Kellybrook. Also I saw in the Star the other day the district purchased land for a third middle school. They said it will be south o...

Re: 97.3 Turns to God
It might speak to the competitive nature of the sports radio market in KC. I wish I could see 610 and 810's numbers for listenership over the past year. Something tells me that 610 is gaining and that Union Broadcasting was looking at cutting its losses. As for 97.3 becoming a religious station t...
