Re: e-Scooter Share

bspecht, do people with scooters do a pretty good job of staying off sidewalks in DC? There, at least they have bike lanes and enough cyclists that cars know to keep an eye out. Scooter mania is in full force in SF. KC a will struggle to keep them off the sidewalks bc there aren’t enough protected ...

Re: Detroit

Just read "How to Kill a City" and strongly suggest it. Need to check out Detroit and explore how racially divided the redevelopment is and try to learn how gentrification/redevelopment can be more inclusive.

Here's a 250 ft building in NYC being called a tower.

To be fair...250 feet would be ~20-25 stories in a traditional build out.

Not to be a hater but I think it's so funny that a 10-15 story building is considered a tower.

Lots of progress on the site today....Concrete foundation going in on the south side of the project and two new Bay Cranes have popped up too. This thing should be vertical in a few months if not sooner.

Re: Troost developments

Hey gang -- there is a house for sale at 33rd and Troost (more or less). I know there is a lot going on in the Troost corridor and I am reaching out for help! Two things: 1) Can someone list all of the developments happening in the area? A lot is here and a concise list would be stellar :) 2) How is...

Incredible progress in a decade but still a lot of work to do. The new Lights will help fill in but I wonder when the other lots will be developed.

Are any of them for sale?

Re: Two Light - 14th & Grand

Not sure on Three Light breaking ground. They want to hit a certain lease percentage before starting which they're very close to BUT, the fiasco with the two city council members pushed things back slightly. Was on a tour today -- the leasing agent said they just hit 50% and raised prices on all un...

Just toured two light and am very impressed. This building has everything and is extremely livable. You can walk to a grocery stores, restaurants, public transit, and just about anything you’d like. The views are spectacular and you get a true city vibe. The additions of 3/4/5 light will only furthe...

Re: Status and future of the River Market area??

Why do they keep building these places without any parking? I know you people do not like parking lots, you have torn me a new one about it but most people want parking and if people is going to live there they need parking lots. Parking is a cancer that kills cities from the inside out. Get rid of...

I mean, how do you guys not find LED signs to be incredibly tacky? No one actually lives in Times Square, why would any livable neighborhood try to replicate that?

I get that it adds a bit of a “big city” vibe but Don’t think that is the best directions for KCMO.

Steady progress on the site! Concrete pillars are being set on the south and east sides of the site. They are moving fast and should be vertical by sometime next quarter.

Why not close grand full time, make it a pedestrian plaza with food trucks, seating and green space?
