Re: Prospect MAX

Looks like someone took a baseball bat to the glass on the stop at 12th and McGee. Panels on each side are completely spiderwebbed.

Re: Old KCPS HQ - 12th & McGee

The previous owner had found that it would be cheaper to replace the building than to rehab it... Yeah, I’m going to call BS on that. Now, the value to them is obviously more as an empty lot. But, if the goal of development DT is new residents, it is cheaper per new resident to rehab the existing b...

If you're the guy I made eye contact with on my walk to work yesterday: the penis-high portion of One Light that faces Walnut.

Curious what they'll do with the rest of the building. Can't imagine that firm needs 8 floors. Room for growth I suppose!
That would be a lot of growth for a 20 attorney firm
Maybe the floors are real small!
I'm gunna now go out on a limb and say that my source may be incorrect.

I've heard it's Stueve Siegel relocating.

What is the likelihood that the House is able to pass this? Pretty certain? I know Parsons said that they were around one vote shy of passage as of last night--how true is that?

I really wanted to do a "did someone say 12th and Baltimore?!" bit, but I guess 13th is close enough.

Re: Electric Park Neighborhood (East Bottoms)

Is there any other development in Electric Park or would the Reiger basically be taxing itself for the improvements? I get that there are financial implications with a CID versus paying out of pocket, just wondering what other properties (Knuckleheads?) might be included. Not sure what the boundari...

Re: Electric Park Neighborhood (East Bottoms)

How are CIDs comparable to HOAs? I'll take my answer off-air, thank you CIDs are special taxing districts that can impose up to a 1% sales and use tax on transactions happening within the district boundaries. That money is typically spent on improving public infrastructure (i.e. trash services, rec...

Re: City Center Square for sale

Yes, I can quash the Target in CCS rumor. I've spoken with someone connected with the redevelopment and it is planned to be a food hall concept. Escalators are going away and some type of stadium seating staircase (think Populous office in renovated Board of Trade) was described. Sounds like this w...

Re: Uptown Theatre district improvements

Their sister restaurant, Vildhast announced that its closing up shop at Parlor on April 27th. I'm thinking if you have to put out multiple calls for help, and then close up your food hall concept that saw foot traffic of hundreds per day, it's maybe time to rethink your business model.

Spoke with someone who chats with people at Cordish pretty frequently and apparently it’s in the works to bring Brioche into the old Mema’s spot.

The renderings give me a little bit of the same vibe that I got from the Pearl District in San Antonio. Especially if they're also focusing on getting retailers and restaurants as a part of or adjacent to the Flats development.

An Indian restaurant might do well with the recent influx along Armour and Gilham stretches. The city core doesn't have very good Indian places, most of the good ones are in JoCo. Yes. There needs to be more Indian restaurants in the city's core. Or ANY Indian restaurants that are open after 5. Whe...
