Re: OFFICIAL: Port Authority Riverfront Project
This was what I was hoping to see. More like this please IMHO: This is where we should put our Keystone Innovation District. Let’s get the local Apple, Google, and Microsoft offices down there. Then sprinkle in a bunch of startups with tech district offices for local players like Garmin, Cerner, et...

why not?flyingember wrote: ↑Wed Sep 11, 2019 12:39 pmWhy? It's not on the Plaza and there's multiple buildings equally far away without a Spanish look.Midtownkid wrote: ↑Wed Sep 11, 2019 12:10 pm
That stop should have a Spanish look. Red Tile Roof. Smooth concrete archways holding it up. Think LA Union Station.

Re: OFFICIAL: Port Authority Riverfront Project
Kansas City has a blank canvas and an opportunity to do something special with the riverfront. 2-3 story apartment complexes are not cutting it. I hate that this is even being proposed. Every plot needs to be the union or better. This cannot happen.

Just double the size of the museum and it would work.

Re: Washington Sq Park between Crown Center/Union Station
I always thought that this would be a perfect location for a natural history museum and with the success of the Dinosaurs Alive exhibit at union station, that just confirmed what I was thinking. I know that there is one in OP but that's not the same. Tourists will not travel out there for the museum...

This seems to be the common reaction to any modern building that is not a glass rectangle... Must be a KC thing

Re: Status and future of the River Market area??
Holy Shit! So one of the city's hot spots on the weekends in the summer will now be bisected by cars? This has to be a joke... I mean seriously, who got paid to make this decision and why/how could anyone think that this is a good idea? I'm lost.

Re: Amazon searching for second HQ
Would I pay 3B upfront to get 27B? Yep! No question. ofcourse. anyone who knows even a little about business would but then again, is 27B guaranteed? Where would the money be going? Look at Johnson county giving billions in tax cuts over the years and where did that leave them? cutting money from s...

Re: Amazon searching for second HQ
I don't know if i want that chance anymore. The fact that they would want literally billions of dollars worth of tax incentives to build here give me pause. Jeff Bezos could literally spend 3% of his net worth and build a HQ but he would want the city to foot that bill. I don't want that at all.

The waves on the side of the building added character. from walnut it will look like another glass rectangle. I don't like the downgrades.

I wonder what the plan is with this. Even if they clean it, what happens the next time it rains?
