Re: JaCo Translational Medicine Sales Tax
I hope this goes down in flames. Very disappointed in the county for even putting it on the ballot. This is not something that should be funded by sales tax revenue.

I don't think it is so bad. The colors they used to unveil it aren't the best. Much better than the fountain heart.

Re: Phase 2 streetcar to UMKC
The ROW parking in Brookside and Waldo it a PITA to navigate anyway. Would be an improvement to replace it with a garage.

I'm pretty sure that toy train exhibit is permanent. Hallowen City opened a seasonal store across the way. Ulta will open up permanently next to it. Gary Gribble moved to a large new space, and it looks like they're doing something with its former space. I think that's the only vacancy up there rig...

Unfortunate to see the little brick building on the corner torn down for this ugly thing.

Re: Google picks KCK/KCMO for ultra fast fiber network
At the rate they are hooking up houses, it might be the next decade before these suburbs see service.
No idea why it takes months after the "deadline" to sign up for service for them to actually install it. Seems like their deadlines are way too early.

Re: Plaza move-ins (ongoing)
this is going to be an enormous shitshow. that intersection is basically the only part of this entire metro that feels, for a few minutes during rush hour, like "big city congestion." closing that block is going to blow minds. And only because it is a complete traffic engineering cluster....

Re: Google picks KCK/KCMO for ultra fast fiber network
Got an email from Google that it can take up to 4 months complete a fiberhood after installation has started. Not sure why the sign up deadlines are so early if it takes that long to install.

Isn't this the responsibility of the developer, not the city?Joe Smith wrote:There are a lot of areas in K.C. North with no sidewalks.

Re: KCMO Street Signs
I find the numbered street signs much harder to read. On the old signs ST ot TER was the same size font as the number. Now it is a tiny size font like the E or W. Makes the signs harder to read at a distance.

Will miss the hallmark cards in Halls. But I guess that falls under the "neighborhood amenity" category so unlikely to be replaced.

Re: KCMO Street Signs
The proofreading and attention to detail on the new street signs is terrible.
There is a sign on Meyer Blvd that says "Meyers Blvd"
There is a sign on Mill Street that says "Mills St"
Centering the text vertically on the sign seems to be beyond theie ability.

^Pensacola, FL. Maybe it was just a bad day there. None of us liked it.
