Re: New Riverfront Women's Soccer Stadium

I biked - other than the wind (which was "fun" on the ride back), the only real quibble I have is that the last stretch along the river to the stadium doesn't have a dedicated bike route, so you're doing one or more of: dodging peds on the riverfront trail, riding through the construction...

Re: Parade Park

Well, that's uninspiring. Appreciate the density, but the massing and acres of surface parking are rough for creating a neighborhood. At least the buildings front the street with parking 'hidden' within the block. What do you expect? Structured parking? That would be way too expensive for this type...

Re: Fantasy Retrofits: Barney Allis Plaza

Would not expect the residential built in an initial phase/buildout. Seems like Connected KC 2050 has the latest project scope: https://gis2.marc2.org/mtp/publiccommentlisting.html $116,500,000 ... The project includes two components: an underground garage and a plaza/open space at the surface. The ...

Re: Plaza Residential Development

I wish we had an eloquent speaker who would attend these meetings, and after the selfish NIMBYs do their testimony, this person would get up and point out how the City doesn't have enough money for things because it's not dense enough, and that the previous speakers are all selfish assholes who onc...

Anything of note?
Not really. Tons of late legislation added too. Council can't seem to get things put together in time for meetings.

Re: East Side Development

There is a plan to redevelop the Western Baptist Bible College into an office and educational facility, along with building 35 townhomes on the surrounding grounds. It's too bad the other buildings on the campus couldn't be saved. This might be able to help bridge the Keystone Innovation District w...

KCMO contributing $15M over next 3 years to KC2026 (1st year already appropriated). Also designates KC2026 as the "Host City Authority" with FIFA, removing KCMO as party, but KCMO still guarantees the obligations of KC2026. https://clerk.kcmo.gov/LegislationDetail.aspx?ID=6567073&GUID=...

1800 Baltimore for sale, looks to anticipate same uses (ground retail + office + a penthouse unit). Worked in building back in the day, lots of nostalgia in the brochure. https://www.loopnet.com/Listing/1800-Ba ... /30833905/
