The Wizards Won the US Open Championship!!!

OK, but it still seems kind of odd.

When will KC host an MLS championship game? I think KC would support one very well even if KC wasn't in it.

Uniting the KC metro freeway signs

435 on the MO side actually signs Grandview, Lee's Summit, Raytown etc. I do wish the Kansas side signs made more sense. When you enter KC from Kansas, the signs say "Kansas City" next three exits etc. Kansas City only has three exits?? Or out by the speedway, the signs say Kansas City nex...

Kearney

Uh, actually, by 2010 the population of Kearney, Missouri should be around 18,000... right now it's close to 9,000... census happened over four years ago. I recently saw plats for what is planned in Kearney now, let alone what comes along in the next ten years. Those plats alone increase the size o...

H&R Block - New WHQ Size

Last I heard it was 18 floors and 500,000 sq ft. I wish they would go to 25+ floors so the building doesn't get lost in the skyline, but I'll take it.

It is looking like this building will be very similar in size and height to 12 Wyandotte Plaza, the glass curved tower at 12 & Wyandotte.

The Plaza (Broadband Recommended)

Great photos, I like the Brush Creek photos, but I hate they way KC ignores that amazing waterway. Those sidwalks should be packed, but it's actually hard to get people in Brush Creek shots. I am also starting to get used to Plaza Collenade, it seems to be blending in to the plaza surprisingly well....

me thinks we need to develop an interactive map where you can click on a specific neighborhood and view the pics. I think it's time to build a world class KC photo website. Too bad, I don't really know how. I have been wanting to for a few years now. If there is anybody out there that wants to get ...

Official: Bistate 2 election

I get the impression that it's a good idea to oppose Bistate II because we don't want a renovated Kauffman Stadium, we want a new downtown baseball stadium... this is along the lines of how I've been thinking. Does that sum it up?? Pretty much. A billion dollars of tax money should go much further ...

Please explain what exactly the Open Cup is. I don't understand how you win a championship when the season is not even over yet.

The Olathe Arena Pipedream

I have a problem with one of the fastest growing suburbs in the nation using STAR bonds to build a toy that they don’t really even need and certainly will not be a metro area asset. In this process of building an arena at the end of one of the most congested off ramps in the metro, they will destr...

Downtown for lunch???

Sorry if I came across a little hard, but this is the easiest big city in the nation to park in, period. I mean our premier urban district (Plaza) has more parking then they will ever need and it's all free, all the time. Crown Center is free on the weekends and even during the week with validation,...

Bistate metro ain't that unique

There is no telling what is going to happen in the future. Keeping that in mind, I want you to consider a future where a majority of the Kansas City metro population lives in Kansas. What problems could this type of metro area bring? I don't see this in the future. The MO side is growing just as fa...

Downtown for lunch???

These horrible parking stories are for the birds. Sounds like a KC Star weekly editorial for Mr. or Mrs. OP or LS. Give me a break. I have gotten parking tickets in KCMO and UMKC. Deal with it, part of living in a city. There are over 30,000 parking spaces in Downtown alone, I can't even imagine the...

See, I take suburban photos too!

I consider the picture of the highway very light traffic. I travel this way every day during rush hour, and the only time that I have seen traffic in this area moving slow was during a snow storm. Today like pretty much every day, you can travel the full 65mph without slowing down. However, just we...

heheh. it's like when my coastal friends make fun of the Midwest for liking country music so much, when Garth and all the other country superstars sell out venues for multiple dates in LA, SF, NYC, Philly, etc. people see and hear and think what they want to. it doesn't matter if Billy Graham sells...
