Northland Infrastructure taking shape

Well, the infrastructure is coming together in the Northland. If anybody has driven down 152 lately, they would notice all the new exits and accompanying four lane arterial streets. The Northland master plan is coming together and getting funding through many different sources. Roads like Searcy Cre...

Gilham Row Townhouses...

Wow, this area is starting to turn the corner fast. I should have done a before and after series. It would have been amazing. This still seems like a risky development, I mean, pricey condos truly in the hood, not like Union Hill which is connected more to Crown Center and Main St due to the terrain...

Re: OFFICIAL - Arena construction

UMB is not balking, they just are not sure they are too interested in the "swap". A deal will be made.

Renderings of proposed Kauffman stadium imporvements.

sad, but neither of these renderings do anything for me. Let's see, 200 million for Kauffman...well the renderings show we take that money and turn on the fountains! Of course we loose the little K though. For Arrowhead... 200 million buys us a couple of massive spot lights that never make it out of...

Village West will be very influencial in KC's future

VW is for hicks and suburban families. It will be good for the metro though. T-Bones? Very few people even know they exist on the eastern side of the metro area, let alone Des Moines. KC is FULL of hicks and rednecks, it's one of the areas biggest problems. They just don't understand the whole urban...

LAZY ATA workers......

Most of the drivers are union. I'm not sure about the office staff. Remember when they had the big fight when the ATA wanted to use smaller buses on some routes? Smaller buses means smaller salaries. Contracting out bus routes means no unions. I think most bus drivers make about 25-30 bucks an hour....

Re: KCATA Ridership

More buses, more commuter buses with more frequency and that use "commuter" buses rather than "city" buses. This will inject more "everyday" people into the system and lesson the intimidation factor. Right now ATA is a poor people's bus system and that's it. Of the 50k ...

LAZY ATA workers......

MidtownGrrl, works at the ATA. I was waiting for a response from her. I’m sure you will find many of the lazy union/city type people you are describing at the ATA. But at what level of exaggeration? KFB, your reputation does not sit well with this story. I believe much of what you said, but I will...

What's wrong with WOF? Besides that fact that it's turned into a carnival with two decent coasters.

Not saying that either, but I never hear it...

I'd say about 90 percent of the time, it's Olathe, then OP. The rest are about equal on both sides of the state line.

Im going to KC

Not work related this time ;). Plus I continue to find forums all over the net where people are slamming KC, it's downtown, it's schools, it's corrupted city hall and it's crime. It doesn't take long to figure out why. Sadly, the people who most often post negative things about KC are from it's own ...

Unofficial Kill Bistate II Thread

(Funny thing is, Clay approved the first bistate by a larger margin than JoCo and they didn't even have too) Bistate will require Clay approval A proposed bistate sales tax won't be collected unless voters in three counties approve it, the Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce said Monday, yieldin...
