I have this feeling that that entire 470/350/50 interchange will be a whole different animal after those new exits open.
Expect I-29 & Barry or I-35 & 119th type retail only it will be even bigger.

When will the residential component of KC Live be built?
This is still bugging me. If they don't build at least two or three towers in the first phase, there will be so much dead space and possibly even remnants of the surface lots that are there now between the arena, KC Live, Ballroom etc. Asthetically, that would suck and the density would not be where...

Planetarium gone, bad idea, it could and should have worked
Star reporting US wants to re-open the Planetarium. This is good news if they can figure out how to run it and market it.

Why are all these buildings going "condo"?
There are still a ton of businesses Downtown. 100,000 people work in the Downtown/Crown Center area. The old warehouses are perfect for wide open condo buildings and the skyscrapers like 909 and P&L have such small floor plates that they simply can not compete with new structures Downtown or in ...

Just forget I said anything Devin. A new hotel or two will go up Downtown, but I think it's several years off.

Those stats are totally worthless.
KC could easily support another team and supports the teams it has comparatively well.

destination retail??? Umm Bass Pro will not be a "destination" when you have larger, similar stores not only in MO and KS but in the metropolitan area. It will not be some sort of economic boom for the state of Kansas and therefore this arena should not recieve Star Bonds. Olathe, just rai...

Planning for Upscale Lee's Summit Shopping Center
Do you really think it will be a mall? I realize there is sort of a void of a major indoor regional mall in the SE part of the metro, but mall construction has all but come to a halt in this country. Plus, I don't think LS is quite ready for a regional mall. Much of LS is very close to Indep Center....

No, this is new. It looks like it will be a "tapered" type tower that will have some parts of it's structure over I-670 (mostly skywalks connecting to a new garage). It is going in where Bartle was to have a future exhibit expansion. Now they want to expand Bartle's main exhibit hall to th...

A large hotel is going in east of the new ballroom. I have seen plans for it, but don't know who will run it or when construction will start.

Do you support HCA's proposed Independence hospital?
I'm not sure if it has been mentioned here yet, but Independence is getting the hospital. At least the seven story building will add some density to the Little Blue Pky area.

Welcome. There really is a lot going on in KC, but this arena is crucial.
When was the poll done, is this the old one that's been floating around for a while?

C Woods has a vacany rate close to Downtown's. It's approaching 25%.
The only area of JoCo that is really doing well is South Creek which I have a hard time calling Class A space.

OFFICIAL - Bartle Hall Expansion construction
Well, I guess they want to build a massive garage where they were originally going to build another hall expansion (east of the ball room over 670). So now they want to expand the main bartle over the interchange west of bartle. Anyway here is the ballroom: http://photos.imageevent.com/kcgridlock/mi...
