Re: KCMO Downtown Streetcar
The streetcar group should encourage tow services to regularly peruse streetcar line for potentially good business.

Re: Politics
I'm not thinking they would, but he personally may and encourage his followers not to support GOP with no votes. But yeah, Cruz would be next natural to support (for most of his base) however if GOP somehow can select Rubio in a brokered convention, more reason for Trump to Cruz followers not to sup...

Re: Politics
Good point however if Trump doesn't get in, could actually see him openly supporting Hillary or at least 'not supporting GOP' to his hard followers. OTOH if gets over 50% of delegates, can GOP attempt a brokered convention? I'm thinking only realistic if no candidate has more than 50%.

Re: Politics
If it is Trump vs Hillary, which is all but inevitable, it will be a candidate with fervent supporters who will turn out in "uuuge" numbers vs a candidate with establishment support that even dem voters don't trust and are widely apathetic about and Republicans despise who will probably b...

Re: Politics
Of GOPrs I know who don't like Trump they say there is no way they would vote for him (a no vote rather than for Hillary). Of hard left Bernie DEMs I know, they don't like HIllary but would vote for her rather than no vote. Trump does not have support from moderate established GOP'rs to the point th...

Uptown Shoppes has the rooftop parking. They should also encourage taking bus in ads/flyers by listing nearby bus lines. Also maybe try to get Uber as a sponsor, posted in ads/flyers as well. Homes could always offer paid parking in their driveways or even backyards if they want.

Re: Politics
Is still early but looks more like it could be a Trump/Clinton matchup. The support for Biff the schoolyard bully is bewildering but looks like many simply don't want anyone established in politics - especially blue collar WASPs. Will be interesting to see if Bloomberg runs. He seems to prefer Clint...

GF TV had an outage for a couple hours a couple weekends ago and giving free Showtime (all channels) for a month starting today, March 1. Looks like all content is available via On Demand so need to to DVR anything. All seasons of their shows are available via On Demand.

So I've notice the sign isn't being taken care of lately. Likely not cheap to maintain. Any inside scoop? Did they drop maintaining altogether?cknab1 wrote:So is it true that when a light burns out in the Western Auto sign, the owners have to take turns replacing the bulbs?

Re: OFFICIAL - The Grand (former Traders on Grand)
Is it asking for any incentives? A better use for that building. DT office space continues to shrink as residential increases... not that suburban companies interested in moving downtown anyway.
Nice to get more residential/hotels along Grand and to east.

Re: New Broadway Bridge
I haven't been following this proposal at all and haven't read whole thread, some thoughts anyhow... This project doesn't seem to be worth the effort until ready to add more lanes along old airport to I29 (if even enough room to, might have to be elevated freeway in one direction). I understand more...

Hmm, not happy the buildings were torn down but given it happened, that would be a good replacement.

Re: Do you have or plan to get Google Fiber?
Sprint struggles with building/tree penetration with 2.5Ghz (800Mhz is best, 1900 is just OK) so 3.5Ghz will be even less effective. Is possible they could use 3.5Ghz for phones 'where signal available' and rely less on other carriers for data in certain areas - but wouldn't be very cost effective t...

Re: Do you have or plan to get Google Fiber?
Would be nice to have both options, though I'd rather have fiber for the lower latency (and I have underground fiber). There can be many uses for this but I'd be concerned if they decide to stop or reduce last mile fiber rollout using this instead in the future.

Re: Do you have or plan to get Google Fiber?
Looks like Google might be testing in KC a new type of wireless using 3.5Ghz. This is good and bad if planning as alternative to last mile for fiber. Good in that they can get deployed in hard to reach places but would not be as good for those who get wireless vs those who get real fiber to the home...
