Re: Phase Three Streetcar Expansion

I was thinking more you would have a huge area of land to use that could be retrofitted to meet your needs. You have the footprint of The K, which would be gone, Plus the entire area around it. Chiefs may move their facilities closer to the stadium, Say right across where they K was, and you have mo...

Re: Phase Three Streetcar Expansion

As we are dreaming pie in the sky ideas so to speak. I think it may be interesting to think of the TSC as rail commuter hub that could serve the Metro. Let's say the Royals move downtown, and the Chiefs stay put. You could create a new use for TSC where you could have rail that would service downtow...

Re: Need cleveland ideas

Hopefully the trend will be for some larger businesses to decide to come back to downtown. I mean MAC was there, Sprint always had their campus along Rainbow & Shawnee Mission (or whatever it is called right there). But I believe they used to have a large presence downtown, in One KC Place. Plus...

If I'm not mistake, Japan has a huge vending machine/automat food culture. They have large, almost like food courts, dedicated to these machines and areas to dine. They even have some that are staffed where cooks prepare fresh meals to then place in the machines as people buy them. I think a similar...

Re: KC metro gaining as a major distribution hub

Which of the 2 is best for KC? Looking at jobs & growth impact for the city. KCS was a great KC company & would hate to see it gutted by this merger. Looking to avoid local trends of major companies merging or agreeing to buyouts to leave employees twisting in the breeze. Doesn’t look like ...

Re: Restoration of City Control Over KCPD

This location by the closed Taco Bueno is in the Northland, correct? I wonder if they chose up North because of the large amount of KCPD and KCFD that live up North for the schools and such because of the requirement to live within KCMO.

Interesting, as Clay County residents voted yes on the Zoo. Certainly can see where some may have more selfish desires but most amenities built up here can be accessed by all residents

Not sure, I work at Commerce Bank and don't recall anything like that. But I've been WFH for about 18 months now, with the occasional onsite meeting. So I'm a little out of touch of what is happening down there. I plan to return to the office once Commerce gives us the green light to do so. We have ...

Re: Poll shows support for NKC to secede from KC

I have lived in the Northland all my life with stints away for college. I enjoy it up here and liked how the cost of living relative to other suburban areas was so much lower. Now that lack (or lag rather as it has continued to grow) in population left us short on amenities for years but things are ...

with a big new residential project perhaps going in and a hotel, going into what is the "heart" of Westport entertainment district. Will this help change the area up a little bit? I know there is the brand new residential at the corner of Westport Rd. and Broadway. Curious if the area beco...

Missed this key point... https://cityscenekc.com/big-westport-mixed-use-project-back-would-include-apartments-and-hotel/ It's nice to see this developer not seeking incentives when they have a garage though. Unlike the proposed Bravo Hotel which also has an existing garage but they are also seeking...

Curious if anyone knows the status of what was the Hampton Inn on 8th & Walnut downtown. I know it's closed and I assume it was a COVID casualty, as it always seemed to have business in the few years it was open after the renovation. Just curious if it was going to re-open, be sold for developme...

Hopefully the trend will be for more major companies to move downtown and build a presence there. Plus as someone who lives in the Northland I would welcome the population to help land more amenities and such up here. It's very easy to get to downtown and the location is close. Plus we have wonderfu...

Re: Nashville?

We don’t have amazon and other giants trying to build in our city. So many local companies are used to cheaper, lower density offices in JoCo. Amazon is building here, just big warehouses and data centers on the outskirts. Yea we aren't getting local HQs or national back or regional offices to go d...

The Prairie View road location is right by Scott’s. That is a thousand times better than red lobster, Olive Garden and anything else at Metro North. Yes those options are there now but with the new development it may have spurred new things to become tenants. Having a a large "office tenant&qu...

I really hope the improvements keep moving South from Linwood down Broadway into Westport and eventually end at 47th & The Plaza. With Main Getting the street car expansion it will really help improve the neighborhoods between Main & Broadway (east to west) all the way South to the Plaza. Th...

Hopefully there will spur some more businesses around that area with even more residential. Plus maybe the Hyatt House thing will get going again after the developer can get new financing or whatever they were waiting on from the lawsuit. Last I saw it was trending in the right direction but who kno...

Re: Metro North Mall

Well just saw that FBI is not going into a new spec building at Metro North cross development. That is a shame, could have been a nice business tenant there to provide people throughout the day for dining and entertainment. Going over off 1112th St & Prairie view. Not ideal,
