Re: a Westport Saturday night.

Heh. Seriously, if you were that guy, what would you do? ((shrug)) "Eh."
As long as they aren't sticking up the joint and trying to make off with all the Sudafed,
he's comfy.

Re: a Westport Saturday night.

So there's no problem just as long as once the bars close you never leave Westport? Not saying that. Perhaps the moral of the story is after the bars close, people should go home instead of milling about in parking lots known for drug deals. I agree that if this area has a continuous issue, there s...

Re: OFFICIAL: The Falls at Crackerneck (Bass Pro development)

Well, compared to Blue Springs and Indep, LS pretty much has their act together. I agree, though Independence is doing better than poor sad BS, (my home town). So, LS will eventiall force MoDot to widen 470. They are not going to sit back and not grow just because MoDot doesn't want to improve 470....

](*,) Is Lee's Summit high? I can't believe that they (LS P&D) wouldn't look at that layout and just throw up thinking of the body count. Guess they're too busy sweating out Legoland and building McMansion subdivisions.

Spectacular. That will help the congestion issue just loads. Are they going to add access to 291 from NB 470, or will they keep that retarded dogleg from Douglas?

Re: a Westport Saturday night.

Yeah 39th & Broadway problems have very little relation to westport. Agreed. Westport security is all over the place every weekend night. I've never witnessed anything more than drunken brawling there. Block or two north? Different crowd entirely. We were at the Madrid for a show one night, and...

From what I can tell, it's just been a repaving job. Hope I'm wrong.

That's my exit from I-70. :(
And 40 Hwy is just going to break there. Rename the area from Crackerneck to Bottleneck.

Re: Official: KCMO Light Rail

They discussed this on KC Week in Review and my god, are the establishment-types incredibly negative about this. We can't! Johnson County won't get on board! Its not feasible! We're too sprawled for light rail! Kansas Citians love cars! We can't take money from buses! We can't get federal funding! ...

No, it was something else, near there though. I can't for the life recall its name, but it was more a salon/spa than a workout facility.

Re: ?What New Retail Does Downtown Need?

Wow, I never thought about it, but I can't believe that there isn't an Office Max or the like downtown. I know most DT businesses probably order from Corporate Express or the like, but still. Screw a downtown Wal-Mart, no matter what the size/concept. A Target might be awesome, though. In Chicago, t...

Re: OFFICIAL: The Falls at Crackerneck (Bass Pro development)

Yep, walls are up, and I imagine it will all go very quickly now. Scuttlebutt I've heard is they are supposed to have multiuse trails around the development. I spent several years in Springfield MO, home of the Bass Pro. The store down there is amazing, especially with the new museum, and makes Cabe...

Guess bikers will now have somewhere to go between Westport and north of the river.

This is a new standby for me when I don't want to cook. The street-style tacos with carnitas and hot salsa are freakin' delicious.

Also? Tongue tacos! Heheheh. Never fails to make me giggle, but I'm twelve years old (not really).

Re: Miami Ice

We wandered in there the other night after dinner at Fric & Frac (whose owners also own Miami Ice). They do indeed have ice cream, both soft serve and several interesting hard ice cream flavors, like cake batter. I went for a shaved ice, myself. You can choose and mix flavors. Tutti frutti and p...
