Will Lee's Summit be the next Overland Park?

Are you talking about Independence Center? I.C. would be a lot smaller without the Lee's Summit commuters. Lee's Summit needs its own mall.

Houlihan's moving out of the Plaza?

Why is Nordstrom so much better than Lord and Taylor? To me, Nordstrom is just overrated. By the way, I was at Nordstrom in O.P. with a friend from Chicago and she said, "This place is a dump compared to the Nordstrom by my old house in Chicago." I'm pretty sure she lived by the Nordstrom ...

Let your displeasure be known!

I wouldn't waste my time with those "know-nothings." They've already got a enough to worry about (i.e. the Great Mall).

Actually I volunteer somewhere too, I feel so special.

You're reading too much into this dialogue. You like Olathe and I like to live in an area that has zoning ordinances.

I dare you to go the AMC and ask....do it. I'd pay for a video of the kids' faces when you ask them. Also, your signiture is really annoying.

I know that Saks Inc. has been having major problems at their flagship stores. It wouldn't surprise me one bit if they sold their KC store. From some articles I've read, the Saks stores really don't know what they're doing and are in quite a bit of trouble. I bet there'd be a bidding war between Nor...

Dan... I want you to ask a kid outside the Studio 30 what the Nelson is. I'm asking you to do it cause you live there. I'm just looking to see if Olathe kids know what the Nelson is.

BTW, I know a college girl born in Olathe who's only been to the Plaza once...LOL!!!!!!!!!

New floor at KCI

I like it better than the old stuff. I'm not sure it's the most fitting for the terminals, but it looks O.K. in the pictures.

I would "do my homework" to explore, but Olathe hurts my eyes. And as for the children of sacred Olathe, ask some of them outside the Studio 30 what the Nelson is. Much history is wrapped up in the century old homes, streets and buildings that are "old Olathe". Check it out. Can'...

Whoa! This is getting nasty. I think we'll just have to agree to disagree. I'll be the first to admit that Lawrence is not in Olathe's league. We have tiny Mass. Street and you have 119th. We have Roy Williams and you have America's sweetheart Kay O'Connor. We have the KU campus and you have the Ben...

KC vs StL

I think it's right on the mark to say that much of KC's small town attitude steems from the "big suburbs" we have. The bigger the suburb gets...the bigger the suburbanite's head gets.

Galyan's at Zona??

Getting REALLY off-topic: Actually I go to KU now. Believe it or not, but there's a wide variety of styles happening on campus. Sure there's the hipster Urban Outfitter types, but a lot of other kids dress like they're from the Rockies sporting outdoor brands like Patagonia, Marmot and Lowe Alpine w...

Trouble for Northland retail

Kevin Nunnick predicted problems for new retail in the Northland in today's Star just as stated many times on this board: Trouble also may be brewing in the Northland, he said, where three shopping center projects -- Zona Rosa, the Shops at Boardwalk and La Bella Vita in Briarcliff -- are competing ...

I know what you mean. There's a ton of kids at KU that dress like they're going to scale a mountain or go hiking when they're really from STL or OP. I guess it's called "outdorsman chic."

LOL!!!! The sexual innuendos are too countless to name. Dick's really isn't even in the same league as Galyan's. Dick's carries the same clout as landing a Sears. Galyan's is much more selective. RED's Boardwalk is really getting on my nerves. First, they said it was a "lifestyle center" a...

Galyan's at Zona??

I was just looking through that model of Zona Rosa and it looks great!!! I wouldn't at all call it "new urbanism" though. It looks more like smallville or Mass. St. in Lawrence. Definitely not urban. Anyways, looking towards the back of the model, there's a red building with a curved arch ...
