Re: New AMTRAK route between Kansas City and Oklahoma City
forgot about the 2-day brain fart, here's the reply from my KS senator Terrie Huntington "I will support the enabling bill which will provide for federal stimulus dollars for the project, but please be aware that if and when the RR line comes through Kansas, it will cost the state $14 mm per y...

Re: OKC pictured in Jan 2010.."sense of place" finally taking root
The completion of Devon HQ is really going to improve OKC's skyline. At least 225 feet higher than One KC Place, which makes me quite jealous. Re: New/expanded Lawrence Public Library
You're certainly right about smaller towns having better libraries. I lived in two towns in Iowa for a time, Ankeny and Ames. The former has about 25,000 people, the latter has 50,000. Both had completely better libraries than Lawrence. It's really an embarrassment to me.

Re: New/expanded Lawrence Public Library
I'm pleasantly surprised all the proposals are for downtown. I figured the city would have tried to build it out in Sprawl-land, West Lawrence. They all seem nice to me.
