Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
Color me skeptical on the Feds shut this down narrative that is now bubbling up. We all know the Feds can present obstacles to get projects to completion, but just like the FAA there are exceptions given all the time. I mean, in Chicago the Federal Building and GSA building are located in the Loop ...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
Damn it I meant to go to that. You must have been too busy throwing out wild allegations and speculations as absolute truths. The main entrance to the site would’ve been barely a block from the main vehicle entrance and loading dock area of the Fed building, and a block and a half from the front do...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
Not the only issue, but security concerns raised by GSA and FPS at the Federal building, as well as the FTA & FAA buildings meant that the site was ruled out. It’s annoying for sure, but it doesn’t outlaw development in EV forever, just not things that generate large crowds regularly. If this i...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
I might have missed it but why was East Village eliminated as a site? Afterall it was one of the two choices remaining when the team eliminated a few others. Not the only issue, but security concerns raised by GSA and FPS at the Federal building, as well as the FTA & FAA buildings meant that th...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
Oak closing to vehicle traffic is a non-starter is the issue. Having that many thoroughfares over 670 closed (when you include the Cap closures and Grands frequency of closure) destroys any hope of Streetcar being functional unless Main was closed to vehicle traffic and became a transit-way. It see...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
Oak is closed for sure on the renderings we've all seen. Truman is tunneled under the park cap. While I know closing Oak is hated by some, it creates a really cool pedestrian experience. The bridge over Truman funnels to the upper concourse which is acts as an outfield plaza in between the building...

Re: OFFICIAL - New KCI Terminal
Almost a year since opening and people are still happy with the new terminal over the old ones. You love to see and hear it! except some people who fly little who now have to walk a little more Heart disease is the number one killer of Americans annually. I don’t care if people have to walk

It's nice to see Q is serious about crime. What a total joke. https://nypost.com/2024/02/18/us-news/kansas-city-mayor-accuses-governor-of-racial-dog-whistle-for-calling-parade-shooters-thugs/ Yeah, calling ones who shoot blindly into a crowd with illegal firearms because of a minor dispute “Thugs” ...

Re: OFFICIAL - KC Star Printing Press
Could the same argument be made about baseball? I know the rule changes last year caused a slight bump in viewership and attendance but the long-term trend has been negative. Younger sports fans seem to prefer basketball and soccer. Baseball is an old man sport. Are we going to look at replacing a ...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
^ You would be wise to listen to Ms. Cockson. But, unfortunately, you are not wise. As annoying as DCole has been as of recent, he isn’t incorrect in that the assessment made by her in the interview is objectively inaccurate, and is full of ignorant and half-informed conclusions. Pretending locatio...

Re: Chiefs Super Bowl Parade - 2024
Will any possible future victory celebration occur only inside secure Arrowhead ? Hate that we are having to think about retreating to fortresses. Mayor already has stated that St. Patrick’s day parade is still going ahead as planned. Unless the Chiefs or NFL decide that security would be better fo...

Re: GO CHIEFS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
From what I could see on security footage at work, there was a pair of cops in the vicinity and looked like they had noticed the interaction, but the stream of people flowing west on Pershing leaving the rally stage area were making it difficult for them to get over there.

Re: Is KC Tenants destroying the development future of downtown KCMO?
KCPT Flatland tonight had round table discussion on midtown housing with Gerend, Bunch, guy from KC Tenants. Developers invited but no show. Good point brought up was that lack of new construction will drive rents up on existing housing stock. What developers were invited, did they say? I know a fe...

Re: Is KC Tenants destroying the development future of downtown KCMO?
I like their goals and I am frustrated with their solutions at times. The problem is that you have a fundamental misunderstanding of what KC Tenants goals are and the background of its establishment. I can read the materials of related groups and People's Action. I understand what their vision is. ...
