Is this the body worlds exhibit? If it is, it has been at the Chicago Science and Industry Museum in the past and I'd heard nothing but good things about it.

Re: Big XII Basketball
I'm not too sure, but a few weeks ago I happened to be walking home from Aggieville, by a cop and some girl, and she kept yelling "It was Andre Gilbert!". Still no idea what actually happened though.

Re: RedBox
Not sure if this works on KC Redbox's, but I remember you use to be able to get a free rental if you typed in "redbox" after sliding your card. Might be worth a try for those of you out there as cheap as I am!

Re: P&L District: 12th & Main Site Proposal
Do you think the recent article on the KC Star about discouraging smaller hotels from being built (in order to have a 1000 room hotel) will effect the outcome of the residential/hotel tower?

Re: Howl at the Moon
I haven't made it to this particular HatM, but I was living in Chicago the past year, and I knew plenty of people that would make the trip downtown just to go to this place. It always seemed like a more touristy place to me, but seemed to do well with the locals as well. Guess we will have to wait...

Re: Austin growing up!
Agreed, these are really where KC is killing itself: schools, crime, transportation . Development and population growth would follow, if KC would simply do things right. But politics (DEMOCRATIC) liberal politics won't EVER break up the school system nor will KC ever get the right judges and policy...

Re: New Convention Hotel talk
You are wrong. I think (almost) everyone on this board fails to see just how much money each and every convention, regardless of size, brings in to the city. Its something you can't even begin to contemplate. Just look at Skills USA, they brought in over $12 Million last year alone, if I remember...

Re: P&L District: 13th & Baltimore site proposal
I can see how HRC could still be seen is a draw, even if its a bit dated. People like to feel like they are visiting an exclusive type restaurant that is only in major cities, and Kansas City will be the closest location for a lot of people. I'm not a huge HRC fan, but I'd love to see a Maggiano's...

Re: Shops in P&L?
Half the fun of indie/used bookstores is just browsing and making a good find. I guess its true that if I'm looking for something imparticular I'd skip a smaller indie store for borders, but when I'm going to a bookstore clueless for what I'm looking for, used is the way to go.

Re: Shops in P&L?
Its too bad in KC, we argue whether a Borders or Barnes and Nobles is better. Its too bad independent bookstores have such a bad history here. I miss cheap used bookstores.

Re: More Affordable Housing Needed Downtown to Service New Employees
In no way am I saying that affordable housing is a bad thing, but in any large city its always going to be a problem. Take Chicago for example, aside from Marina Towers, its next to impossible to find affordable living downtown and as a result the el and buses are packed in the mornings and afterno...

Interestingly enough, Moore apparently isn't considering either/or with Andruw Jones and Jose Guillen. Could be a crazy next couple of days.

Re: Official: Royals Sign Yabuta
I think Soria should stay closer. Anytime Royals get an effective bullpen/closer they put them in a starter role and start losing ball games in late innings. But Silva 4th with young talent in the 5th seat wouldn't be a bad deal.

Info on Coffee Lofts
Hey everyone. I'm a current Chicagoan, but a former Kansan. I've been seriously thinking about leaving Chicago for downtown Kansas City, just don't know that much about downtown KC or the best way to go about finding a good loft. I'm looking to rent an apartment and found on Craigslist the Coffee...

I think the Carbide and Carbon Building would look great in downtown KC. It's Art Deco style would fit right into KC's skyline.

Re: OFFICIAL: Power & Light District
There's both a McFaddens and Howl at the Moon in the River North neighborhood of Chicago. McFaddens isn't a good place to eat at, but is a crazy place to drink at. If its anything like the Chicago McFaddens, they have all kinds of specials, events, etc to attract people to the bar. Its a college-...
