Re: New Chiefs Stadium

Nashville stadium is a great location for big events. would have been a better WC host candidate than KC overall. Nashville really makes me think Paseo west is the move for arrowhead 2.0 I'd argue KC is a better World Cup host than Nashville...and of course, I'm biased. With the soccer culture bein...

Re: New Chiefs Stadium

I don’t think getting a Super Bowl should be part of the goal of a new stadium or renovation. Would be a great bonus but not a requirement. This isn't the messaging in Nashville. They are building their stadium to attract the Super Bowl. We have the history with Lamar Hunt and will have shown that ...

Re: OFFICIAL - Loews Convention Hotel (formerly Hyatt)

Retail space on Baltimore on market. Was this the spa before? I walk past this building on baltimore almost every day and I have no idea what this is referring to I believe normalthings may be referring to the space at the corner of Baltimore/Truman. The upper level of the space is the fitness cent...

Re: NFL Draft

That’s a huge mistake. Don’t let them do that. Have the east side in front of the streetcar stop be the covered VIP area with food and meet and greet. Would have good concrete underneath and would be just as close. The stage won't block views of Union Station -- they've worked very hard to showcase...

Re: NFL Draft

They're going to create a massive covered structure that paying guests will be under. That alone will eat up and good views of the building from the lawn area. That’s a huge mistake. Don’t let them do that. Have the east side in front of the streetcar stop be the covered VIP area with food and meet...

^Thanks @Fang for posting all of these pictures! Is this site and the site from Collison's article today in CitySceneKC the same or are they two different proposals. Sorry, if this was answered previously. Same project. We need FAA to back off and start approving things. An uncooperative FAA is may...

Re: Short Term Rentals

I am hopeful KCMO will soon pass legislation that requires STRs to apply the 7.5% CT Hotel Tax on each occupied unit per night. It's an untapped revenue source that needs to be applied across the board.

Re: GO CHIEFS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

^Don't forget AirBNB as well. Would imagine that stock jumps for WC. ^Very good point. The STR market continues its rapid growth around much of the country. KCMO has seen a 215% increase in STR supply over the past five years -- and this figure only includes those listed on either Airbnb or Vrbo. T...

Re: GO CHIEFS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And the concert downtown, Lizzo I believe, pretty big regional draw across 4 days, but yes, we 100% need more rooms, and fast KC was awarded the bid based on the current number of hotel rooms with future development factored in. Once again, KC has enough rooms here (36,000+) and regionwide (19,000+...

Re: GO CHIEFS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It was a good game and Chiefs played well. Just some mistakes to fix, O-line needs to step up and need better production from Juju and MVS. Really could have used Tyreek out there. I also saw that hotel rooms across KC were booked by Bills Mafia last weekend. If Buffalo can sell out the area, we ar...

Re: World Cup 2026 at Arrowhead?

So are we to assume the Intercontinental will be renovated given it's designation as a team hotel? The last I heard the hotel was trying to get subsidies for much of the work instead of relying solely on money from IHG/Holiday Inn group. So much has changed with the bid since KC began this pursuit ...

From the FIFA 2026 Bid Book. https://i.imgur.com/2BQuqt7.png The original bid had these sites listed as the training sites. I still think KU got got floated to replace one of these KC's final bid included five MO sites and three KS sites as potential training locations: University of Kansas Health ...

lol on the woke comment. I guess if you haven't heard it in two years, maybe look within? Joking, kind of but seriously I know it's a word mostly used by conservatives towards liberals but it has it's relative place. Insisting any man who talks shit on the WNBA is doing so because of his gender is ...

Re: NBA to Kansas City

I’m not sure I’ve heard anyone use the word woke in the past few years that doesn’t just mainline certain media into them. That aside, women sports are fun! I can’t speak for basketball, but where sports fail it’s normally do to a lack of investment and availability. Watching elite athletes at the ...

Like your rewards points list? Loews KC is by all accounts nicer than Live by Loews STL. Curio I assume is the Union Station location which is exceeded by multiple KC hotels in quality. Tend to think Four Seasons is the best fit of the 5-star brands for KC. Have you been to the STL live by Loews or...

Another dude that doesn’t like women’s sports. Anything else you want to educate us on? Exactly. I'm a big men's basketball fan (both professional and college) -- and I truly enjoy the women's game as well. Both in-person and on TV can be exciting if you're a fan of the sport. Watching the best ath...

Re: NFL Draft

Exactly. And with estimated three-day attendance in the 350,000+ range, inside Union Station could never be a consideration for an event of this size. With 350,000 people, no ones going to be able to see anything in person anyway! Who cares if they see on a video board the events happening inside t...
