Re: New Chiefs Stadium

The advantage of the rolling roof is being able to leave it open so grass can grow, so closing it the day before or the morning of the game is a non-issue. There are five retractable roof stadiums in the NFL and six in MLB and I don't know that any of them have ongoing issues with operation. If Arr...

Re: World Cup 2026 at Arrowhead?

KC is looking very good. My confidence level is up and we will know by middle of June. Completely agree, KC has a legit shot at this. All conversations with FIFA continue to be very productive, and the process continues to move forward for the KC bid. We've waited this long, just one more month unt...

Re: Capping the Loop

KC Star Editorial now saying East Loop is the one to cap KC Star continuing to have just generally terrible takes. Yup. The day they pack up for good will be a win for the city. It's certainly frustrating, but to just state that KC would be a better place without a major, local paper -- couldn't be...

Spoken like a true Missouri Show-Me-Stater. I think we’ve probably lost this one too.
KC is still very much in consideration by FIFA. Just wait until next month, we'll know for sure.

OMG do scooters occasionally get in the way of you walking -- how terrible and inconsiderate.

Creating a thread devoted to the driving tendencies of those on scooters. 100% NIMBY behavior

Re: Scooter crimes

Just a general thought: Why are we devoting this space to discussing scooters in the city? Yes, they're annoying at times; but you will occasionally encounter inconveniences when visiting/living in an urban environment.

Re: Hotel Overbuilding?

Yes, but we're lucky to be hosting he NAIA, Big XII tournament, Sweet 16, Elite 8, and the NFL Draft all in a 6 week span immediately after our new airport opens. And potentially the AFC Championship a month before that too. Lots of big events the early part of the year. Very wise of them to realiz...

Re: World Cup 2026 at Arrowhead?

Uber isn't really considered transit. It would cost around $40+ one way between a lot of places and not practical when you have massive fan zones. The places would get congested and I assume Uber would surge prices. They'll need to be dedicated transit solutions. I'm sure the city put together a pl...
